Hersheypark’s sweet expansion for 2020

Hersheypark announced a new $150 million expansion called Hershey’s Chocolatetown will be coming to the park in 2020. The new 23 acre (93077m²) themed area will feature a new park entrance as well as a B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) hyper coaster that will be the fastest, tallest and longest in the park! Coney Island expansion announced

Brooklyn, New York, USA

New York City announced plans to bring a new Log Flume, Ropes Course Adventure Park, Public Plaza, and Arcade to Historic Coney Island Boardwalk. The expansion of Luna Park, run by Zamperla, will take place over the next two years and when complete will increase from 300,000 square feet (27,871 m2) to 450,000 square feet (41,806 m2). Dollywood’s Wildwood Grove announced

Dolly Parton presided over the announcement of Wildwood Grove, the largest expansion to ever open at Dollywood in its 32 year history. Featuring 11 attractions that will debut in 2019, the expansion includes Dragonflier, a Vekoma clone of the Orkanen suspended coaster at Fårup Sommerland in Denmark! Tokyo DisneySea expansion announced

The Oriental Land Company, alongside The Walt Disney Company, announced that Tokyo DisneySea would be receiving a $2.27 billion expansion which will see the construction of a new “Port” split into three areas to be themed to Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan. Coney Island park expansion continues

Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York, USA

In another step toward the new Coney Island envisioned under the 2009 rezoning, New York City’s Department of Parks & Recreation released a request for proposals, or RFP, for the creation and operation of new rides, games and other attractions for the empty lots between the Cyclone roller coaster and the MCU minor league baseball park.
The RFP includes 150,000 square feet of space on five vacant parcels along the boardwalk between West 10th and West 16th Streets (depicted in grey, green, orange, purple and blue on the map). The city plans to lease the sites for 10 years and is hoping the new amusements will be opened by summer 2018. Proposals are due on March 17th. Click the headline for more information.
