Orlando, Florida, USA
November 17, 2016 – Ride manufacturer Intamin has unveiled a new version of their Zac Spin roller coaster at the IAAPA Expo in the Orange County Convention Center.
A Zac Spin is Intamin’s variation of a Forth Dimension Roller Coaster where riders free spin in cars positioned beside the track. Unlike the existing Zac Spin model where two pairs of riders sit back to back, an additional train allows for three different seat configurations depending on the park operators requirements. Riders can either face backwards, forwards or face to face.
Ride operators can choose between traditional free spinning or controlled spinning at certain points throughout the ride.
The new Zac Spin model uses a Linear Synchronous Motors (LSM) to launch riders out of the station and to the top of the lift reducing the operating noise.
To increase capacity, the new Zac Spin roller coaster uses a moving loading station.
Intamin has built four Zac Spin coasters, the most recent is Green Lantern: First Flight at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, USA.
Intamin unveiled the new Zac Spin coaster to CoasterForce at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Attractions Expo in Florida, USA. IAAPA Attractions Expo is the largest annual international trade show for the amusements and attractions industry.
