October 3, 2018 – After many delays, SeaWorld opened Infinity Falls, an Intamin Amusement Rides river rapids attraction themed around a lost jungle river surrounded by the remains of an ancient civilization. The unique feature of the ride is a 30 foot (9m) tall vertical elevator lift followed by a 40 foot (12m) drop, the tallest of any river raft in the world!
“We’re excited about our record breaking thrill ride, Infinity Falls, which officially opens today,” said Park President Mark Pauls. “Yes, it’s taken a while, but the guests who have ridden it at the soft opening loved it. I’ve ridden it and others from this company around the world, and this is the best and it’s only available at SeaWorld.”
Located between the Mako roller coaster and Shamu Stadium, Infinity Falls is the last ride to open this year for SeaWorld Entertainment, which has 12 theme parks across the USA. Ray Rush, the new water slide at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Orlando water park, debuted in May. Although no exact reason was given, several factors, including weather and parts being shipped from Germany and Switzerland, contributed to the delay according to SeaWorld senior director of theme park development Jeff Hornick.
