Oh, the irony: three mistakes in a simple, six-word sentence trying to lambast a multi-million pound company on their level of intelligence.
Now it makes perfect sense, thanks for that!Crazycoaster said:Just by taking a quick look at google maps, closing off the two rides does indeed make sense.
X Sector on Google Maps
Access to the area will come from behind Submission, and closing off the two rides means that most of the X sector can be sectioned off for construction work.
The reason Oblivion can stay open is because the entrance is quite a distance from construction traffic, and even though the ride passes behind both the flats, public access is not needed in those areas of oblivion, whereas it would if the two rides remained open.

Not to mention that the moving plant and workers will all be in close proximity of the rides. I personally wouldn't want to be on a ride if a crane or tele handler was moving something over or very near to it.
As for it being closed all season, I guess it's fairly reasonable. They will have to remove the tent and start grading and profiling the land in preparation for the building, footers and track.
Can you show us where they say that? I can't find it, but would love to see official confirmation they're calling it SW7.owenrita121 said:Alton towers did comment on someones post on their facebook wall saying...
"By closing the two rides, it will make it much easier to take parks too and from the SW7 site".
Ben said:No it's not. It's not going to be a constant stream of vehicles going through X Sector... There'll be a digger or two during the season. Oooohhh...
I hope you're not going on Oblivion?
Or, if they weren't doing it for financial reasons, they would have done more this off-season, like Bicko said.
They're just using it as an excuse, it's clear.
gavin said:I can still remember when Submission was first opened. There was a huge TV advertising push for it (around here anyway), not far off what they did with Nemesis and Oblivion.
It seems ridiculous when you look at that heap o' s**t now. So yeah, overselling crap has been happening at the Towers long before Th13teen.
Anyway, they should get rid of it if it's actually costing them any money at this point (do we actually know?). Enterprise is unlikely to go anywhere though. As far as I'm aware they're very reliable, cheap to run and maintain rides.
