Submission and Enterprise to close?

It's not. It'll be a knock-off KFC like the one between Tomb Blaster and Rameses.
Ugh. KFC is tolerable. Fake KFC is vile.

Worse food, closed attractions blah blah blah... that's really a great incentive for me to renew my pass and go back this season. Maybe I'll just give Alton a miss this year.

I call **** on the "having to close it due to works" if they're not closing off Oblivion too. Any footfall in that area will still be there because Oblivion is open, and Oblivion extends further away from the site than either of those two rides. That's cost-cutting that they're trying to pass off on a weak excuse. Bet they don't come back next year either.
You may be right, but the access from the road is behind Submission. If they block off the remainder of X-Sector at the Oblivion queue entrance that leaves them free to bring in works vehicles and building materials without hitting the public. But Submission and Enterprise do have to be closed for that to happen.

I still call bull.

Especially as I doubt anything HUGE will happen until after the summer anyway, so they could keep them open for then and then spite them.

They could work round them if they wanted, but, I think they just went "eh, excuse to shut them".

^True, but so are Enterprise and Submission pretty much.

Oblivion is probably the best ride at the park for hammering the queues, so I don't think those two rides closing will make too much of a difference to be honest.

Nothing bad about any of this then.

Those two rides were long past it, and if keeping them closed saves on excessive maintenance for a year then so be it.

Pretty gutted that KFC is closing tbh....

As for the flats, im not really a fan of either to be fair, but they make good queue crunchers. The best result would be for both to be replaced by something new in 2013, It would compliment the new coaster and give the whole X-sector a brand new feel, especially if Oblivion gets its paint job as expected.

Why would they announce this before SW7's even been approved?

They must be very confident of getting permission then which is a good thing. Still at least they're re-opening, I'd be a bit annoyed if they removed them and didn't replace them.

Whether SW7 is approved or not, the Black Hole tent is coming down. Though "ground works" (i.e. cleaning **** up) is there excuse and that's only for the new coaster. So they'd need to do it to bring the tent down, but beyond that it's not necessary.

And OMG no KFC... Wait? There was still a KFC?

It always smelled VILE when you had to walk past the back of KFC to get out of the X-Sector, made me wonder what the hell they were cooking that could make it smell that bad!

I hate KFC.

I like KFC in general, but so what, its not a big deal, its not as if there is not anywhere else to eat in the park.

I do love how nobody gives a **** about Enterprise or Submission, but KFC??? OMG, don't take away our greasy chicken option!!!

I think that Alton/Merlin are just stupid.

They have made the price higher and removed two rides for the 2012 season.
You can't say "yer but they are getting two new rides this year".
because their ride total will just be the as last year. Merlin are just money making Idiots.

Rant over. :x

FFS, so that's where I've been going wrong? I've been clever and that explains why I'm in debt. Stupid me... I mean, clever me... I mean, you know what I mean ;)

I don't really understand why they are closing. It's clearly got nothing to do with 2013, because Oblivion is closer to it... and that's staying open. Or have I missed something?

That said does anyone ever go on them ever?

EDIT: Merlin's Fake-FC is better than real KFC so I'm thrilled. I long for the day Thorpe's KFC **** off.
