Trip Plans For 2014

My plans are looking something like:

UK based:

The usual thorpe, alton and blackpool

Maybe some sort of welsh cred run, (greenwood, and other little parks) including revisiting oakwood, if I can get around the fact there are no bloomin buses there!

First trips to milky way, flambards and ocean beach (hopefully)

Europe:

Sweden live (+ tusenfryd, furuvik, and maybe one or 2 others)
Hoping to do the mini french blast thing, and def doing Heide park - maybe grab a few other german /french/belgian/dutch parks in around those dates

:)

I plan on having a similar list I had this past summer. Dorney, Kings Dominion (mostly for i305. I got spited this summer due to cable lift problems), Hershey, and Bush Gardens.

I'm just about guaranteed to go to Hershey and BGW, I'm not so sure about Dorney and KD though. I'd pick KD over Dorney any day, especially since they will both be revisits.

If I'm lucky I may get the change to drive up to Tampa and visit BGT for a day.

I'd been kinda wanting to pick up the all the creds in New Hampshire and Maine, especially now that Storyland is getting Roarosaurus

Trips are constantly being arranged, so far:

Heide Park with Darren and maybe Dan - May :evilbat:
Pleasurewood Hills with the family - July
Sweden Live - July
Denmark Post Live - July
PortAventura - Sep/Oct
GhosterForce - Oct

Will add Oakwood to the list once confirmed, as well as a few other UK trips. Also hoping for a quick trip to either Walibi Holland or Parc Asterix, yet to decide which, and when, and how :-k

Apparently we're not doing Sweden, but instead are doing four days at DLRP in April. Erm... Woohoo..?

At least it means I can write the park guide :)

I just finished booking my trip to Orlando and Tampa for April! The **** winter weather here is only making me more excited for spring in Florida!

I really want to do a quick trip to Walibi Holland this year. I've been searching around and it's possible to fly into Amsterdam for 9am, then fly back at 7pm, the park's not that far from the airport. Flights are 30 quid each way at the moment...

I also plan to visit Pleasurewood Chills this year, I don't have the creds and from Jordan's trip report their Halloween stuff sounds brilliant.

My confirmed 2014 plans so far are:

Chessington and Thorpe in March before my annual pass runs out (I'm not bothering to renew it this year)

Madrid parks in April

Parc Asterix and DLP for my birthday in June

Sweden and Demark in July <3

Ghosterforce in October :)

So far, my year looks like this (Lives depending of course):

Go to Thorpe/Chessington/Alton and cry at Angry Birds Land/STILLNOTHEMING/CBeebies land
Some sort of South Coast thing Easter Weekend (details to be posted)
Madrid early April
France late April
Something potentially involving Cornwall (and finally getting to bloody Flambards, picking up new new Devon cred on the way)
Massive America trip in June
Sweden and Norway in July
Heide Park in October.

Yay!

It's a very doable trip, I did it in the Summer from London. The train station is right inside Schiphol Airport and the trains are very efficient, and at the end you just take a direct shuttle bus to the park. I got a good 5 hours in the park, and it's well worth doing just for Goliath!

PortAventura on the other hand is not great to do in a day from London...My first trip of the year was there on Monday; a monumental effort, luckily the park was completely empty. If it had been my first time it would've been poor; you need so much time to explore properly. Shambhala was fantastic though :)

I noticed the same, a quick day trip. Hire car was working out cheap as chips too, think I worked it out as about £130 inc entry fee. Only issue is the 6am outbound flight.

Looked at that too but decided it's not worth the hassle, a 2/3 day trip is not that much more expensive and can get the most out of it.

By the way 50% off hotels at PA at the moment - http://www.portaventura.co.uk/promotions

I'm hoping to go to Europa Park and Heide Park this year. Just got to convince the parents (whom aren't the biggest coaster fans...) but hopefully I can make this my birthday present.

Orlando at the end of april/early may. After this I swear I don't even know if we are going to anything else, but I'll convince her to go to San Antonio and their parks, I'm almost 100% sure of that. So many excuses...

End of March - Thorpe Park

Start of May for 10 days - Using a Center Parcs in South Holland as a base, visiting:

Efteling, Toverland, Movie World Germany, Bobbyjannland, Walibi Belgium, Phantasialand, Billy Bird Park, Plopsaland De Panne & Bellewaerde

My highs on this trip will be "Troy", revamp'd "Turbine", "Familieachtbaan", "Black Mamba" & Joris en de Draak :--D

See how bad "Bandit" at Movie World is compared to Stampida", both of these coasters should be re-tracked asap since they score so far down the wooden coaster list.

I'm definitely going to try and do Holiday Park this year; Sky Scream looks good enough to justify the trip. It seems to be fairly straightforward from London as well; flight to Frankfurt, train to Haßloch. I'm very excited :--D

Sorted my Easter holiday out today: Chengdu, Chongquing and Wuhan.

So far confirmed:
Tenerife next week
England (end of March, beginning of April; coasterless)
Amsterdam (end of August)
