Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

I love the colour of the track... I have a thing for greys and this is a very nice grey.

And Ed's comment in this thread actually had me in stitches.

Looking closesly in one of the pics, I think I see the front of the plane.

^Cool...let's hope TP destroy it a bit more though!

^^Agreed, it's a lot better than the colours of Merlins previous rides....

Lets hope they get more footers completed and more track installed tomorrow :)

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

^^ That looks more like the helicopter to me, but yeah its one of the two.

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

It looks nothing like an aircraft if you zoom in

cba to look for them right now, but I could have sworn the plans show that the in-line/brake run was the other side of the station?

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

^ looks like the brake runs done then, if you look closely at that update.

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

Does look like an aircraft, going from left to right, with the nosecone missing.

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

Also ^^

You've got to remember there's too parts to the aircraft, in the plans:

I'm not sure though, it looks more like a stealth bomber than anything else.

I'll let someone else decide :)

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

Was having a bit of trouble actually placing the coaster in the park and judging the size of it. Not sure if anyone else was struggling with this, but I overlayed the plan above onto a map of the park so you can get a better idea.

Do you peeps know, which part that pentagon support might be for. I've never seen a B&M with a pentagon connection. Pic used from Theme UK's update.

Is that a piece of theming arriving in the last picture?

You know I have a plane in nearly every photo, so I think someone is trying to tell me something, I hope it arrives by road though and not fly in itself.....

One hell of an opening day stunt

If you look closely it is 2 workers vans, possible transit size/ Mecedes renault traffic, you can clearly see the drivers window.........

And Ed yes it would but I took over 40 photos(you know me and my camera) well I can say that 70% had a plane in them, if you look in a couple of the others you can see a plane up in the background. I put that one up as it was close and in keeping with the theme. Haha..

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

Looks like supports for the second inversion are going up. But damn that is high. Credit goes to thorpe park mania.

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

^ Most likely due to that it might be in the way if they were to put it in early (more or less everything must get past the lift area, and with a lift in the way then it might be really hard to drive past massive cranes etc...), I think it's more likely that the lift will be the last to go up...

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

The plane is most likely either going to be a mock of a Boeing airliner, or an Airbus airliner.

I can't wait to see what the lift hill/dive look like in real life, and how the train rides through it.
