^ The pit release makes sense, it holds you if there's other cars within your "50 metre exclusion zone" which is as it is in real life.

Yes, but it's not taking into account in the difference in length of the race. If you do a ten lap race, then everyone will pit in at lap 5 and wont be spread out. So you end up held because everyone is in the pit at the same time.

Over 51 laps (or whatever), the pit lap will be different for each car and you'll be more spread out :)

So, they should change the rules for the sorter races.

It does, in shorter races, as soon as you enter the pitlane all cars become translucent and you can drive through them, they re-solidify when a respectable distance away from the nearest car, it's actually quite clever. :p

There is also the chance that perhaps... You're not as good as you think? ;)

There is that chance yes, and I've factored that in, but not THAT slow

What's the differences between your fastest lap times and the fastest lap times on the online leader boards? Are you away from first place by 4 or 5 seconds?

Considering the FLAPs for tracks like Bahrain and Silverstone are already less than one minute, I think you see my point ;)

The same thing happened on Championship Edition, I'm not going to even pretend to understand HOW they do it, but I know it pisses me off!

I have tbh here I have spent very little time on the game due to work etc. I have already won 8 races online, some new tracks as well that I have never driven. China, Silverstone and Spain I led start to finish and no one got close.

The people online do not know how to race so I just let them crash and win, it is very easy to win or get a top 3.

I will spend more time on the game on Saturday to get my rank up but I am already 14 after about 4 hours max.

Just really angry that last night my wins and rank did not update :(

The pit stop bug is stupid, not everyone pits so there is no point actually doing anything but online at the moment.

1:29 at Silverstone form a real person?

Actually, just seen a 1:27

I've read about leaderboard hacks, but not online cheating...

Yeah, the common one is when you get close to a car in front it disappears and boosts a few hundred metres ahead of you (often into a corner where it navigates effortlessly despite travelling at 180/190mph etc.

Or the cars seemingly never brake and just continue round a track full throttle in balls of smoke at epic speeds!

Yes, I accept two seconds under the "real" time of a track (three for longer tracks as there's more time to cut). So a 1:26 at Silverstone would be more than acceptable.

I can beat Seb's pole time from this year (1.29.6) and get into mid-low 1.28's at Silverstone. But when people are lapping at 1:20 on the same track as you - you think they've somehow gone the other way

I have not that happen to me at all, I have had people use the old layout in Spain and do lap time 10 secs faster than me and then get a penalty but no one has zoomed into the distance.

Am only doing the quick 3 lap races though. Online for me seems ok.

HD BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL!!!!!

Beyond Good and Evil was AMAZING, and far, far, far too few people played it. GET THIS when it is released next year.

I'm buying SOTC for a 3rd time, Ico for a second time and i already bought rez twice, TimeSplitters 2 twice and Lemmings 3 times... Might as well buy BG&E a 2nd time as well

*awaits furies blessing*

Timesplitters 2 was freaking AMAZING.

EA have some online pass thing in the latest Fifa. Which comes in the case when you get the game. Interestingly, I'm not sure if this code is one use only or not.

If it is, not only would it possibly mean no more than one PSN allowed to play Fifa online (Gay when you've got a few clubs you play for), but also anyone buying the game second hand have to pay to play online.

Goes back to what was said about second hand games selling on a game several times.

I know a few developers are really against the trade-in market, could be EA's move into trying to stop it.

Whats the game like? Was hard to get a feel for it in the 3min per half demo but it felt a lot better than Evo so considering purchasing this afternoon?

Yeah, EA are doing an online code system. It connects one PSN account to one EA account to allow that one account to play online.

I think that means you can use your PSN account on whatever PS3 you like though.

If you buy the game second hand, you can buy a new online code off the PSN for £6 or something (per game).

It is indeed EA's attempt to get money from the second hand market and other companies are looking at following suit.

In other news:
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus PS3 HD remakes CONFIRMED!!!
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/ico-a ... amitsu-so/

I'm going to post that link on every page in this topic until it's released next year. There isn't anyone with a PS3 who should NOT buy this remake pack. Ico is one of the best platformers ever, and Shadow of the Colossus is possibly THE best game ever!

But Beyond Good and Evil still wasn't very good (IMO) :p

I played the demo of FIA WRC. It's just like the original 2 WRC games on the PS2. I loved those games, brilliant... Sadly, this is a PS3 and it shouldn't look like a PS2 game and the car should act like it's made out of brick any more. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly where it's wrong, but it just is. I think it's an attempt at being realistic, but it just comes off annoying. Dirt and Dirt 2 FTW :)

Have you sent in your picture for Child of Eden Kim? They're doing a section which has photos of fans in it :)

That's fair enough for trying to get a bit more money (EA ****ing rinse the game to get as much money as they can anyway) but it's **** for people like me who play Fifa on more than one PSN. Now I'll have to keep quitting clubs and rejoining them when I want to play with different people.

And it's alright Pierre, if you can grab it for 30 from Asda I'd go for it, but only if you're desperate to play it. It plays a bit differently and it's enjoyable.

Log on to the PS3 you go to with your user account then? Then when you leave, deactivate it. That should work fine :)

I doubt there are that many people who actually go round to friends and take a disk and then play online there nowadays. Social gaming like that is pretty old hat ;)

Indeed. I got screwed in a 12 lap race by pitting when the engineer told me too. I ended up being held whilst half the drivers got let out of the pits before me, severely hampering my points win :( After that I make a point of not pitting until about 2 laps after it tells you to. Using this method I have had a clear run on the pits every single time and jumped a few drivers too.

Ironically, last night I also got truely screwed by the Pit-Stop-Bug. I was putting a good fight on moving from 14th in Quali up into 2nd, however, after my pit stop I came out in 2nd and stayed behind Petrov who was miles behind me when I went into the pits. Assuming that he was to pit soon I carried on fighting forward... however he never did. Damn pit bug needs to get sorted. I had worked blooming hard for that win!

Bought Alan Wake second hand for £13 (bargain) and it is amazing! I have only played the the nightmare and the start of bright falls. It has loads of suspense, the gameplay is clever and fun and it has some scary moments. The only bad thing I have noticed is some of the lip syncing is out in the cutscenes. I won't say any more as it will wreck the already awesome story but if you have an Xbox 360 go buy it!

Fifa is awesome. It feels even better when I got it for £25!

From my first few games I really like the new gameplay, everything is more realistic and I like the fact they've slowed down certain players so they can't sprint straight past you. They seem to have made the trophies easier to get than Fifa 10 as well, you don't have to play like 10 seasons on manager mode to get them all now. In fact there are hardly any if any trophies that involve being the manager in career mode.
