^Very simply they just attach the train (or part of the train) to some pulleys and then gradually move round the track. It's basically a case of lowering it on pulleys down the hills, and winching it up the next. It's used to check clearances for riders and trains, tolerances on track connections etc.

Ok thanks.. that's what I figured, but I didn't think it could be that simple. Wouldn't things like inversions give them a lot of trouble?

It's probably just got to do with how the trains arrive.

I'm willing to bet there's a slight extra charge for the trains to arrive with everything assembled, and whereas Cedar Point opted to buy Maverick with everything built, KD and parks like Tusenfryd decided not to.

It's probably not a lot unlike whether or not a ride arrives pre-painted, or the park paints it on-site.
Could it also have to do with the proximity of the park to the train manufacturer?

That also makes me wonder, where are the train manufactured?

A friend posted this on his Facebook profile today from the ACE event at KD.

He reports that there in fact will be "soft straps" attached over the shoulder like Inferno at Terra Mitica.

Good job A-Kid.. :p

The straps won't be as bad, but disappointing to say the least. But just because it has the straps doesn't mean it won't be good. Maverick is an amazing coaster and has OTSR's.

They won't even be bad, and I'm sure they will be better than Maverick's restraints on me because my ears will hopefully not line up perfectly with the bars like they do on Mavvv.

I'm not disappointed at all, I still know it'll be a good ride and will definitely be able to scare me.

^Doubtful.. look at the Tornado video with Aidan.. he was just fine on Tornado. ;)

PS: Just about anything scares you.

Looks as if the train's pull through is at the bottom of the second hill and I believe they said this is the second time it's been pulled through or so I've heard. According to Clint Novak, Pagel said testing should start in at least a week and will let him know when the first train goes up.

I'm also proud that a Texan leads in the first rider auction. :p

I don't think they will be able to wear their ten gallon hat while riding.

^And since when do you think logically?

Well remember on the first pull through they did spend a lot of time on the top of the lift hill so there may have been a problem there. I expect testing should start within the next week cuz they looked to have the cranes up at the top, could they have been doing something with the lift cable?

And is it just me or when you look closely on the webcam at the train on the transfer track it looks like there's water dummies?

^ Well that'd make sense, considering they should be on the brink of testing.

I'm sure they should start testing by at most the end of this week. I have a feeling maybe Wednesday-ish.
