I don't think anyone's saying that. The restraints alone aren't going to make the ride suck, but they are kind of a disappointment.

Maverick is different in that it contains inversions, a beyond-vertical drop, and even sharper transitions than what we're seeing here, so OTSRs are to be expected. This ride looks like it'd be even more fun without them, and in this case they seem kind of superfluous.

Just looking at it and I'll give my 2 cents. It looks like something you'd make on RCT. The way the bankings are designed is just silly. I'm not really sure how good this is going to be.

Well 80% of people in here have nothing to contribute but to whine about the restraints..

And for whoever said it, how are the bankings designed silly? They look normal to me.

And what are you contributing Taylor? All you do is bitch about people who bitch about the restraints. Brilliant.

If it is indeed the restraints we see on Tornado.. then yay!

Did that contribute atall in anyway either?! Say's me having a go at you :p

I'd rather have a dig in the neck then bruises on my arms and the slamming of my neck/head into the OTSR's.

^ Yeah... in other topics? Or other sites?

Seriously, if you're just gonna bitch about a valid point being discussed, even if you think it's a bit stale, don't bother posting, and wait for the topic to progress in its own time.

Gawd.

Haha oh my I think I started a bitchfest yay, go me. <3

Yeah, me too.. I'd prefer something like that to be snug against my body than to have something that allows for optimal ear smashing into the restraints..

I do know what you mean, but its strange I had a problem with these but I have no problem in Stealth and Rita. These seemed to affect anyone that went on Tornado, but then again that did spin, this will be different so you might have a point.

I haven't bothered to read a few of the recent pages but, to clear some things up on the restraints if people don't know already. The restraints are not the basic Intamin OTSRs and they are not like the ones in the picture at all. The restraints are supposed to be designed like a real racecars seat belts so that makes me believe they may have more of a triangle shape if you know what i mean rather then the usual square shape over the shoulder. Probably will help a little bit and it could even be OTS seat belts that buckle over the shoulder like a real car but I don't know about that.

Maybe they're dipping into the theme just a little too much here. Next thing you know they'll be adding roll-cages.

Still.. Could be worse

I'm just saying that there's been a lot of bitching about the restraints, and until we get to ride the thing, there's no way of possibly knowing if they are going to suck, or be fine.

Shoot, we don't even have 100% confirmation of what kind of restraints it's going to have, since the names and descriptions match more than one possible Intamin system...

Ahhhh, but if all Intamin OTSR (or straps or whatever) suck - then they will suck on this no matter what? ;)

However, it does seem to be a very personal thing. I know the Kingda Ka type of restraint would hurt me - the Tornado restraints hurt Marc. Yet the Ka restraints Marc is fine with.

So I think for each person to state a preference for one type or another seems reasonable (it's no different to discussing if you'd like the particular hills, or 90 degree banking twists) - but to argue about them is pointless - it's really down to each individual and what hurts one may be joy for another.

The OTSRs on Rita give me no problems at all, although they are a bit odd and uncomfortable, they do not hurt or anything like that. Either way OTSRs are certainly not B&M OTSR quality.
