What's new

AVATAR Land for Animal Kingdom WDW

Looks like this is back on but in a different area of the park.

Camp Mickey is basically going and Avatar Land is going there.

Sort of makes sense as this is where the dragon area would have been.

Still not a fan of this.

That wouldn't make any sense though? The only rumours I've ever heard have been Camp Minny-Mickey, and it's why they've been building the new Lion King stage in the Africa section of the park

Yep this is where I thought it was always going to be built but other people kept saying I was wrong.

It's far enough away from the animals etc.

If you look back in this topic you will see where people thought it was going.

Just wait now for the normal comments about budget cuts lol.

Don't we still have to wait to see what attractions are actually going into Avatarland?

I really haven't been paying attention as until they announce what's going into the land I won't pass judgement and just don't care about it.

There were some plans put on screamscape, the main ride is sort of a 'soarin'' concept with 4 theatres, and then a secondary smaller indoor/outdoor boat attraction.

It all sounded fairly official but from what a lot of people are saying is that imagineers just aren't happy with the way Cameron is directing/over-seeing the project which is apparently causing the project to be delayed. It could all be a load of BS though so take that with a pinch of salt.

D23 is coming up and it sounds like they will be trialling/showing off stuff from some new projects so maybe we'll see something about Avatar land at the expo.

Cameron is a perfectionist, so I can see the imagineers being a little peeved about how he wants this project to be.

^The Imagineers are too, they just get their budget slashed all the time halfway through projects because you know, money is most important.

Cameron is an overrated hack who just rips other movies off and claims them as original or special by spending 8 years on Dancing with Wolves meets Pocahontas in space in 3D OOOOOOOO.

Fixed it for you :)
