September 26, 2018 – VR Coaster, the company that introduced virtual reality on roller coasters, invited CoasterForce to a demonstration of their new Diving Theatre concept. The unique underwater VR experience uses lightweight waterproof headsets, a snorkel-like breathing apparatus and scooter engines to propel a stream of water around participants, who encounter giant sea creatures while exploring coral reefs, underwater caves and sunken ship wrecks.
It really feels like you’re moving through huge ocean spaces, even though we were stationary in a shallow swimming pool! We expect this concept to catch on quickly and be available at water parks around the world within the next few years.
