The log flume really is looking great. It really is fabulous to see Oakwood going to so much effort.

This is apparently the walkthrough experience... I can't imagine what's in there if I'm honest.

Yeah the Flume is looking pretty neat, but I cant quite get to grips with what is going on with the rest of it....

I am loving the interior shots of the Log Flume. When I saw the skull, I was slightly put off but judging by their latest pictures, it seems they are back on track to building a well themed ride.

Oh I'm loving that log flume. Plus here is a photo of attraction number NINE going in.

I agree with you, I'm struggling to follow the overall theme to the area... and I'm not even sure if there is one, but however, seeing that for years Oakwood has been deprived from any form of investment, it's just refreshing to see such an effort.

I would imagine the Log Flume will become a new favourite ride for many children. I do hope that Oakwood continue with this kind of effort every year from now on. *Fingers Crossed*

I think it will. All I want now is a big ride, to back up Speed and Megafobia abit.

From the first picture in that last update, that skull looks like more like the bow of a ship.
As I said earlier, really liking this log flume. Great to see Oakwood make the effort!

Wow, that was unexpected. I'm not saying it looks amazing, just unexpected! Didn't expect it to look that good inside. It's great to be proved wrong.

Well it's definitely a ' Neverland ' theme Oakwood have gone for. Was confirmed by ITV News today.

Not much to see, but just snapshots of the report. (Apologies for the quality)

As you can see, Plane Crazy has been relocated and has now been painted green, with a Fairy placed on top.

View from a different angle, once its complete i think the area could look really great! I just hope this heads Oakwood into a new era of development!

And a quote from UK Park News :

''Among the new rides are ‘Skull Rock’ pirate log flume, complete with 12-metre-tall sculpted skull, the ‘Lost Boys Adventure’, ‘Neverland Chase’, ‘Tink’s Flying School’, ‘Crocodile Coaster’, ‘Jolly Roger’ mini galleon. ‘Hook’s House of Havoc’ soft play and the ‘Sights of London’ taxi ride featuring Big Ben, the Tower of London and Nelson’s Column. There is also ‘Journey to Neverland’ an interactive walkthrough area which takes visitors in to the Darling family home and above the streets of London before arriving in ‘Neverland’ itself. Other areas are themed as London parks and there is also a kids’ ‘Aerodrome’ ride as well as food and retail outlets.''

This sounds/looks absolutely lovely and a big step up for Oakwood, in terms of providing an actual THEMED area. Great move in my opinion.

Wow, this is actually much better for the park than getting a 'large' ride. Sure, for us enthusiasts another bigger ride might have been better, but for the park, bringing in families who will spend so much more is a bigger investment. Hopefully if they get the marketing right then Oakwood might soon see their footfall increase and a bigger return to profit! I just hope they keep on developing areas and theming the entire park to this standard! A massive well done is in order for them!

This must be costing them a lot to use Peter Pan, at least the money goes to a good cause.

It's looking good :)

^It's costing them the grand total of £0 to use Peter Pan as it's public domain.

It should hopefully offset any of the possibly negative connotations that might spring to mind with the Neverland name for a kiddy destination.

^ Peter Pan's a royalty free character now, Great Ormond Street have taken a relatively large hit to their income since 2007 as it marked 70 years since the death of J.M. Barrie.

Clever move from Oakwood.
