What's new

NoLimits Coaster News! (Updated DECEMBER 31th 2013!!!)

So does this also mean we have more control over the track colour as the box section has both shades of green on it!

I've only just noticed this, but this:

Looks Awesome.

But I bet it rapes the FPS.

...amused me. I mean, wow, it has bump-mapping. It was only invented in 1978. It's only for those with reeaally expensive PCs at the minute :p

For me, it's quickly losing the edge visually. Of course, it's not the point, but it's definitely more the point in a simulation than say, and FPS, and look at them. Whilst I'm not expecting AAA quality, proper self-shadowing and perhaps some simple SSAO wouldn't go amiss?

I've seen too many single-person indie projects recently for that to be used as a reason not to do so. Of course, they could be yet to come, and in half a year I'll be eating all my words, but I'm losing faith.

I was busy moving to a new place for the last weeks and had not much time for NoLimits 2. The last things I was working on were tunnels through terrain and water which worked already quite well. I guess that the move delayed my progress on NL2 by at least 2 months and there is still awefully a lot to be done. I have become really annoyed by working on this for so long and I have absolutely no idea when and if everythig will be finished. I am hoping to be more productive at my new place but the fun working on NL2 has basically reached zero. Quitting is not really an option because the project is too far already but since I am the only programmer at the moment, I am simply overcharged with work. I will keep you informed when there is more positive news. [ol]

Hmm.

WHY THE HELL HASN'T THIS BEEN UPDATED?!?!

I am proud to show new screenshots from NoLimits2. The underground tunnels are done and working nicely. One will be able to create tunnels through terrain and even below water. It is even possible to create tunnels right through the water. Also the Dive-Machine is done. The Dive-Machine will be one of the new coaster-styles that will be introduced in NL2. We recreated the ten-seats across floorless version. Tom and Kevin did a great job in recreating the trains, while I was working in parallel on the engine to support the new train features. First of all the train bogeys will now work like the real thing. I implemented a true A-steering (German: Achsschenkellenkung) bogey simulation. That means the left and right parts of the bogey will perfectly follow the track and will rotate independently in all axes. This can be seen on the first screenshot. The true A-steering simulation will make NoLimits2 move ahead into realism and leave the status of a game behind.

Almost like pron. Seems like they've put masses of effort into the rides this time- you can already tell that NL 1.X is looking more and more ancient with every update!

Looks like they have yet to work on the trees...

Holy crap, I check the NL homepage every morning, they must have posted this after my morning check of news...

But HOLY CRAP!!!

I just cummed in my pants.

I didn't even know that was possible!

Honestly, Look at these screens, they look amazing, but it gets me worried that I wont have a computer powerful enough to run it :/

The amount of detail they have put into this is incredible. I could probably show it to my dad, and he would ask me where that coaster is located.

Yeah, this is probably about as real as it's going to get. If manufacturers take notice, we might be seeing them use this in the future, rather than spending hundreds and hundreds of man hours making a POV ride to show to the public.

Also, Ole knows how to make his ****. Generally speaking, the NL engine is very good at generating a good solid ride, even with junkier computers.

probably my dad, too. :p

That looks so real!!! Maybe they will have the 8 seat, 10 seat, and the oblivion seats.(and by oblivion, I mean it has a floor)

Great news everyone!!

NL2: Ride for your life!

Ride for your life! This is the new tag and motto of what NL2 finally will turn into. A full blown action packed first person horror shooter. We thought that simulating a coaster all alone is just too boring, so we came up with this unique idea. It was only a logical consequence. Adding a couple of weapons, medipacks and zombies was easy after we had the hard stuff such as the collision detection and the walkmode already working. Hardest part was probably to come with a good story. We wanted it to be as new and fresh as possible. There will be single-player and multi-player parts. The action will take place in an amusement park crowded by visitors who turned into deadly zombies after watching the new Apocalypse pre show. You are the only park visitor still alive who obviously seemed to have missed that one. Your only chance to survive is to eliminate all the zombies before they get you. Check out the screenshots below, but be warned some are quite brutal. Especially if you live in Germany please close your eyes and leave this website immediately because you will be faced with pure amounts of violence and horror.

NoLimits2: Ride For Your Life!

Killing zombies while riding coasters will unlock new weapons and other even cooler rides. We are still working on the multi-player part of the game, which will at least contain coop, domination and capture the 6 flags multi-player modes. A big thank you goes to Phyter, for providing us these exclusive screenshots. [ol]

This is one of the better April Fools jokes I have ever seen, right up there with No Limits Exchange being completely overridden with jet coasters.
