What's new

Formula 1 2009

There is no break away now, Max will not stand for election and all teams will race in the FIA F1 Championship next year.

It's all good news. Max Moseley has ruined the sport over the last few years. Let's hope the racing gets back to it's former glory days with much more exciting racing :)

Hopefully this will be the end of it, but knowing the people who run F1 there will be more twists to the story.

The FIA had no choice, just imagine how **** the series would have been next year with none of the big teams. The viewing numbers and sponsorship would have dropped massively.

Thank Jebus that prick S&Mosely is gone, sad Prodrive didn't make it into the calender, maybe for 2011!

Its kicking off again.

Sounds like Ferrari set the teams up to get what they want. Looks like Jean Todt will replace Max, and who did he work for none other than Ferrari.

Some teams are not happy and as Max has pointed out there is nothing they can do, only he can stop it.

Great well done just as things get better they could get even worse, Todt should not be allowed that post. He is a complete ****er who does not give a **** about the sport as we have seen with every single team he has run. I would rather see Prost or MS run it that him.

I am sure there will be a lot of happy Ferrari fans if Todt gets the post, they would be the 1st ones to moan if someone like Ron got the job.

The new Vodafone advert is funny. Lewis, Kovy and Martin are in it.

Surely that would be "looks like Ferrari", unless you heard them say it. And if you did, why was I not invited to your little trip to Maranello? :(

Um, wasn't what everyone wanted a pragmatic man who has the best interests of the teams at heart? Todt wants racing, yes Ferrari will be favoured. But hasn't that worked fine for like EVER?

In fact, Formula 1 only started going down the pan when Max decided randomly, hang on a minute, let's stop being up Ferrari's arse and not favour them.

It's a well noted and accepted fact that Ferrari are given more money (10% regardless of championship finish), they are given more protection, they get what they want if they throw a strop. Yes it is unfair and I don't particularly like it because it gives people a weapon with which to use against me, but it balances the sport. Keeps it in equilibrium and almost ensures that stuff like this isn't masterminded by them to spite the FIA.

Keeping Ferrari happy is the best thing for Formula 1 as a sport. And what better way to do so than to appoint the best and most successful Ferrari boss ever in their history?

With regards to the "deserving of points", yeah let's rewrite the rulebook. "He doesn't have a fast car, but he did drive very well in that race, bless him, 10 points!"

I for one, quite obviously, love it when man and machine come together to make a fantastic showcase of excellence. Button this season reminded me of that, and why I love the sport. It reminded me of how amazing Schumacher was to take 13 wins in a season, utterly fantastic. Yet under this proposterous ideal he would have been given nil points. WTF? Yes he has won all these races and won the championship with several races to go, making the back end of the season completely obsolete and a waste of money and natural resources, but he didn't "deserve it" so he hasn't won. Um, yeah, he sorted of earned his position in the best car, by being the best driver. It ALWAYS works out that way. Occassionaly you end up with crap drivers in the best car, like Jacques Villeneuve. But never the other way round.

Neal do you realise just how much you sound little a snotty little gob-****e in that post? lol :p

Yeah I do, I was kind of hoping the many layers of sarcasm and emoticons would tone it down though.

I near enough can not be bothered to post on here about F1 anymore, I think I will just stick to the Grand Prix web site I belong to as people on there actually read F1 news and are not one sided. Even Ferrari fans are saying Todt is the wrong person for the job.

It looks like Todt will not get the job now anyway, it was Max putting the boot in.

It will be someone who has not had any links with the teams for the past 10 years :)

As for my spelling whatever, you know I have problems with spelling/typing and getting my point across. I am very offended.

Well one good bit of good news, F1 will not be returning to Fuji. They can no longer afford to host an F1 race.

Rbr are looking to switch their engines next year to Merc.

Bad bit of news is F1 is at war again, Max only allowed new teams to enter if they used the engine he wanted them to use. Prodrive were looking to use a Merc, this is why they were not allowed to enter. The whole process might have to be carried out again.

It is also still on the cards that Renault will pull out at the end of the year and just supply engines.

As as for Bernie making comments about Hitler. It looks like he will not be welcome in Germany this weekend and car companies are asking him to stand down.

Looking forward to todays race?

I am pleased to see Hamilton at least having a half decent car and yesterdays qualifying was very interesting, probably the best Q2 there has ever been.

I fancy Webber for the win today, the way he was driving yesterday was superb, he looks like he really wants this win this race.

Also am I the only one that just keeps looking at the new S&S coaster along the pit straight? It looks awesome! I find myself looking at that rather than the cars, damn my coaster enthusiasm!

Rain all day according to the BBC. Looking forward to this now, I believe Ferrari to be 1 stopping on a full wet weather set up. Gamble yes, but it could pay off. :p

^And clearly, if the BBC says it will rain all day, there's no rain!

I thought it was a n00bish mistake by Hammy into the first corner, but could have been the contact that gave him the puncture.

Silly Lewis for locking up and turning in on Webber.

He still drives like a rookie and he's been there for 3 years

Nice to see Webber getting his 1st win at long last. Now the fight starts to heat up.

Was also contact that made him run wide Neal not locking his brakes :)

But it was his fault anyway but he was right to take the risk anyway seeing Rubens and Webber delayed themselves. If him and Webber had not made contact Lewis would have led. At first I called Lewis a prick as I thought he made an error in the braking zone, but he made an error thinking Webber would give way.

Was an ok race quiet a bit of action. Well done to Webber he has always gone well here.

Fully expect Kimi to get a 10 place grid drop at the next race, the regulations state cars coming out the pits.

Rubens probably just said bye to F1. They should put Davidson in the car :)

Gutted for Sutil, he was driving brilliantly, but he has no bloody luck.

I also think that Barrichello has just kissed goodbye to his career.

Looks like this will be Bourdais' last ever F1 race, but I doubt the rookie they are getting to replace him will do any better. They should have signed Sato in the first place.
