What's new

Formula 1 2009

Yeah, to be fair, last year we had a shedload of wet races, which helped.

Bahrain was a bit dull too, but the rain kept the other races interesting.

Tbh I sort of feel this season started well but Spain and Monaco have now showed us what happens when the weather stays 100% all weekend. Infact Monaco was one of the most boring races I have ever seen after the 1st 10 laps.

Bahrain was the worst, at least in Monaco there were crashes.

Is it just me that thinks the races actually haven't been that great this season? Yeah, its all a bit topsy-turvy, which makes it interesting in itself, but quite a few of the races have been relatively processional. The two years prior to this have been much more interesting in terms of races. The most interesting stuff's coming from the midfield.

Yea, the actual racing in 07, and 08 was truly superb. But as you said this season has just been so nuts.

Until I later found out Brawn racing is headed by Ross Brawn..
That helps to explain Button and Rubinos surge.
Oh, and supposedly Ferrari and McLaren were too busy duking it out last year to focus on the 09 car.

Anyway, I look forward to Turkey. I like that track.

F*ck F1, it's Le Mans in two weeks! ;D

And its on while the Turkish GP is on... which should be dull, and I should be able to watch a lot of it too =D

Lol, no its not, its the weekend after! Me & Martyn are going again :p

I have a feeling this will be a good race with some action.

I dont think Vettel will win, that car just does not get off the line well. Just waiting to find out the fuel loads but I fancy Rubens for this one or Button

Mclaren are a joke, they knew they had these problems the 1st time they tested the car and simply did not do enough over winter. They should forget about this car and build a new one or work on next years like Honda/Brawn did last year.

Vettel is about 3 to 4 laps lighter than Button who is one lap longer than Rubens. All Button has to do is keep up then put in some fast laps when Vettel pits.

Seriously if Button gets past Vettel I will be so pissed off.

I'm also hoping for Force India to do well, I feel really sorry for Vijay Mallya.

For me Force India have done a better job than Mclaren this year, but they need to replace Fissi who is past it and was never that good to start with.

I'm thinking at least one Ferrari will be messing with the Brawns into turn 1, should be an interesting race.

McLiaren FTL

Dunno I think the Brawns will be 1-2 into the 1st corner tbh, Rubens has been making some great starts as of late I sort of expect him to lead into the 1st corner.

Both Ferraris like the Brawn cars are heavier than Vettel so tbh his race could be over at the 1st pit stop. But the only cars out there to make the soft tyres last are Brawn so should be interested at the end.

Will also be interesting to see if Mclaren can move forward but the car looked so bad yesterday for both drivers just no rear grip at all, and they looked bad under breaking both drivers locking up all the time.

Well that's normal for wee Hammy, he always locks his brakes up, live with it

Plus if Ferrari can keep pace, then they should be very handy for overtaking with their primitive "push-to-pass" button

Bloody hell Mclaren are giving away 15 kph just in turn 8 and this affects the speed all the way up to the next corner.

Neal its not just Lewis locking his brakes its Kovy as well which is not normal. They have made some set up changes so might go better in the race, if they get round the 1st lap lol.

If Ferrari get stuck behind Trulli they have had it, tbh in last part of quali they did not look so good even Massa has said they put fuel in and lost grip.

I expect a lot of spinners in this race as people have been all weekend.

I'm pretty damned sure that I only said that Hammy locked up normally Marc

Can I have my head back now please?

I misread what you wrote tbh sorry :) I did not know you were agreeing with me for once lol.

I did not rip your head off though :)

Jenson Butthead wins again

What a boring race, If Silverstone isn't any good I'm giving up on F1. There are much more entertaining motorsports to watch out there.
