Formula 1 2009

"Felipe baby, stay cool!"

Anyway, back to Eurosport for LMS at Barcelona! It's nice and sunny there! ;)

Kimi should not be allowed to restart, he has been out the car out his gear and had a drink and ice cream. I am sure that is against the rules.

Yes I agree Smithy, but this is their job and they are paid to take the risk. It's always been part of F1 and yes it's totally tragic when it happens, but it is and has been a huge part of the sport which has thankfully not happened since 1994.

There's a fine line between manageable danger, and then stupidity. Driving in those conditions would be stupid. The last few laps showed the lack of grip everyone had. The only racing they could do would be under the safety car, otherwise you'd end up with the race being stopped after two laps because everyone was sat in the gravel traps.

And I know that they aren't going to listen to me, I'm not deluded or anything, I'm just thoroughly pissed off and very very disappointed in the sport I loved as recently as 1 hour ago!

Why?

Jesus Christ, you are deluded.

Typical Kimi though isn't it, to go and put shorts on and have an ice cream

It's almost as funny as the "I had a ****" moment :--D

Am not sure on this, but if a race goes 2 hours I think they get full points even of they have not done enough laps. I am not sure though.

I hope not, as that would be very bad. LOL at Button's dad.

And Smithy, I'm venting, I'm a very very very unhappy fan if you haven't noticed

I thought you could only retire as such if you had a crash, or a mechanical issue? Doubt anything will come of it though. It's Kimi/Ferrari. I laughed at Bernie's handshake with Massa.

All over Button won :)

Lucky 3rd for Nick.

Now they have changed the bloody finish order.

Lucky 2nd for Nick.

Lol Lewis does not know where he finished again.

That was brilliant, another classic moment for the Kimi collection. He couldn't give a ****. All the other drivers getting soaked and him in shorts.

Also funny when Lewis got interviewed by BBC and they told him he came 7th when he thought he was in 5th.

Right decision in my eyes but I still would have loved to have seen some more laps with those tricky driving conditions. Timo Glock drove brilliantly and was very impressive in the wet.

I did think at the start of the race that the weather would severely affect the race, after seeing what it had done the previous days on the F1 website. I was right, and shame about not seeing a few more laps at least.

Well deserved victory for Jenson, again, and well done to both Nick and Timo, outstanding today.

I think Lewis looked absolutely fed up when they told him he as 7th, and he asked his team and they told him. Why wouldn't they have told him already? Shocking tbh, looks like without Dennis there has been a complete and utter breakdown.

This race is another example of why that **** Bernie Ecclestone should **** off back to his house made of gold. He probably would have welcomed a driver snuffing it today as it would get a **** load of publicity.
F1 needs to stop listening to Bernie and start every single race at 2pm. No exceptions, No night races. Just racing.

^^Indeed, they seem to be in disarray.

I agree with the race being stopped, if the drivers were aquaplaning off the track at 20kmh they couldn't do anything else, that's not a race.

Would have been nice for Race Control to explain what they were doing while we all waited!

They should never have raced so late though, someone's messed-up big time there.

Overall Glock did really well with those tyres, but Button was awesome. He took them apart in those final 2 laps before his first pit stop, and did a great job getting the car back to the garage on inters and staying ahead when Glock had already changed to full wets. He deserved the win.

^Like I said, Twilight races were all Bernie's idea. He's trying to work that as a minimum in to all non european contracts to maximise european viewership. And today is an example of why he shouldn't be allowed to meddle in F1 anymore. Kubica and Rosberg were the most vocal criticizers and so they should be.

John makes a valid point here, and what the hell would happen if it rained in Singapore?

Surely the combination of water and spray would render the lights useless to their tasks?

Just a thought.

^The weather is highly predictable in Singapore, so hopefully they've been sensisble with that one!

The locals said it should have started an hour earlier, and it should have really...

The program started at 9 and getting up an hour earlier would have hardly killed people :p

I'll never forget Kimi and his ice cream... It was hilarious...
