Antinos' Dev Topic [NL]

Tron: The Ride is done! After a lot of troubleshooting and tweaking, I was able to put everything in and NL pack and finish the final video. Arly was right about the support color - this ride looks downright naughty with black supports. Finally, here's the final product:

Included in the NLPack is the track itself, two cartextures, the teratexture, and the environment(which includes the skybox).

Also, I will be creating a tutorial on how to create custom environments soon.

I love love love the concept and the layouts. Both of them worked nicely and captured what you were going for. I preferred the near misses on the blue light cycle, but the other seemed more adrenaline filled.

The track work wasn't your best, and it felt like you put more work into the blue side. Still, I really do love everything about it. You don't see many booster bikes, and you made them fun and interesting for me (which is very rare).

8.5/10.

Pretty damn good! The trackwork wasn't your best, but as Arly said the concept was brilliant and I thought it worked pretty well! I liked the interactions and the layouts of each of the coasters, however I slightly preferred the yellow side.

Very unique and inspired work there Marc, top stuff! :D 8.5/10

Thanks for the reviews, guys! I'm glad to hear that you're split between both tracks. I personally like the blue side better, but I purposefully designed blue for grace and orange for intensity. I'm glad I could make a motorbike coaster interesting.

Yeah I definately prefered the blue coaster in terms of smoothness, but I loved the turnaround on the orange side (before the loop). I agree with everyone else really, original and fun to ride! :)

Next new ride is a giga with the name of Highball. I already have the layout and colors figured out...I just need to finish it:

Layout is done and supports have been started. The ride is just over 5,900 feet long.

This is the fourth time I've used this element on one of my rides. I don't see anybody else using it, so I'm just going to call it the bass clef:

No that's a totally unique element he has. I also haven't seen anyone pull the Outlaw Anti-Bank card on NoLimits yet, would love to see the physics going into that puppy.

See the outlaw construction thread, you'll love it. Think of and overbank banking in the opposite direction of the turn.

Yea, just realized that >,>

Total G crunch in the first turn, just like classic i305. I'm sure even fighter pilots would flinch at that turn. Beyond that it's a very good layout, has excellent pacing, and that "Bass Clef" would be amazing if built in real life.

10/10

Thanks for the comments. The feedback is appreciated, as always.

I've been fixing up some older rides and now they're a lot smoother. Would you guys, especially the newer members be interested in me releasing the new downloads?

I did enjoy this, nice fun layout, pacing was kept up throughout and it certainly would be exciting, but the g's were incredibly high. I mean, a lot of of them were shot spikes, but the first turn after the drop hit 6.5 and some of the laterals were dangerously high too. It's a shame, because if you could have sorted those out it could have been a much better ride.

7/10.
