Ferrari Land opens to the public

Ferrari Land, Europe’s first and the world’s second amusement park themed around the iconic Italian sports car manufacturer, opened today. The main attraction of Ferrari Land is Red Force, a 367 foot (112m) tall Intamin LSM launch coaster that goes from 0-112 mph (180 km/h) in just 5 seconds. In addition to Europe’s tallest and fastest coaster, the park features twin 180 foot (55m) tall S&S Shot & Drop towers, a large go kart track, racing simulators, as well as recreations of Venice’s Piazza San Marco and the Colosseum in Rome. Turbo Track to open at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in March

Abu Dhabi, UAE

The “Turbo Track” roller coaster will turn guests into new F1 recruits, and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi into a futuristic testing facility for aspiring test drivers. The opening two stages of the experience include an on-screen training and performance analysis. Recruits then board Turbo Track and burst through the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi iconic red roof at 63 mph (102 km/h), before experiencing hair-raising zero gravity as they plummet vertically back down. If guests are still thirsty for more thrills, they can ride it again backwards, with the experience including front-facing and back-facing seats, offering two unique perspectives. Fire at PortAventura’s Ferrari Land

Salou, Tarragona, Spain

A raging fire broke out overnight at Farrari Land, PortAventura Park’s 807,300 square feet (75,000 sq/m) sister park scheduled to open on 7 April, 2017. No injuries were reported and the full extent of the damage caused by the fire is not immediately known, but there was extensive damage to several structures including the Venetian Campanile and Ferrari Experience buildings as well as one of the two S&S combo drop towers.
