SeaWorld Orlando | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Very boring and uninspired layout as we've come to expect from B&M hypers, but it should compliment the parks coaster collection perfectly! - More excited for Busch Gardens' Mack Spinner though <3

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Looks good to me!
Obviously this is not anything mindblowing, but it looks very solid to me. "Typical layout" sure but really what else does a hyper need? Decent speed, lots of hills, as long as it's not too trimmed (Which B&M seem to finally be avoiding) should be a fun ride.

And Kraken was great, never rode Manta but usually hear it considered as one of the top 2 B&M flyers, so Sea World is gunna have a decent coaster collection now.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Amazing ride or not, it'll be great addition to the park. I think it'll good and Seaworld could end up having one of the best coaster lineups in Florida. Hope that they do some sort water effect at the last turn.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

I hope they don't do a water feature on the last turn. It's already been done on Manta, I think using the same effect twice is a bit lame.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

It's a shorter-than-most layout for a B&M hyper, which gives for fewer airtime opportunities. Yet what it lacks in layout there is potential to make up for in aesthetics, having the layout brink around water throughout the entire ride. The concept entrance is brilliantly done!

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

It looks stunning and will be up there with the best coasters in Florida! I'm looking forward to riding with the soundtrack mentioned in this video:

The whole concept just works and it is exactly what the park needs.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Doesn't look like the best B&M Hyper, but for Florida, this is great. Glad to see that Orlando FINALLY surpassed the 200 ft. mark.

I love the color scheme.

Looks quite short for a Hyper, but it'll still do well. I'd assume the crowds would be happy enough.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

The ride looks really fun! I can see Knott's getting something like this a few years down the road.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Good announcement, if not a mind blowing layout. I'll happily return to ride it over and over though. No negatives for me, they don't all have to be the tallest, fastest, most ejector filled, love a new hyper.

Indeed, a really good line up! And for Florida it's a great add, deff will be the best in the state.
And someone said it's shorter so less chance for airtime but I'd wait and see how trimmed it is. Looked like a lot of hills, and if B&M keeps up with their recent trend of not trimming the **** out of em it may be pretty air filled.

This pretty much.

It's a similar length to Goliath at SFoG...

In fact, with its six hills, the similarly 'short' Goliath has more airtime hills than Silver Star or Behemoth or Intimidator or Diamondback...

So don't go basing airtime potential on length or height.

As if a 200ft tall, 4,500ft coaster is short and disappointing - this would be the best coaster in the UK if we were getting it and everyone would be dying.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

^ Fair enough on airtime hills.

There is a certain disappointment in the stats. 200 ft. is great, but is certainly upstaged by the late success of Fury 325, Shambhala, and Leviathan. It's fourth to last out of 14 B&M hypers in terms of drop height and speed. And considering that there has been a marked slide of B&M hypers in recent polls, it's difficult to see this roller coaster as a Top 20 let alone a Top 10.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Sorry, but why does it have to be a top 10 coaster? All this talk of it not being tall etc doesn't make sense. What does make sense is pointing out again that Florida doesn't have anything else like this and will compliment Seaworld's current coaster line up perfectly.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

I could't help but notice a brief straight section of track after the first drop. Anyone have any idea on what this might be?

For the same reason folks are more excited for Twisted Colossus and Wicked Cyclone than Batman SFFT or Impulse at Knoebels.

Bearing in mind Mako will be SeaWorld's 5th - anything that isn't one of the previous 4 is a good addition to the line up. ;)

Again, the last 3 B&M hypers have been 250 ft. and 300+ ft. respectively. For B&M Hypers, I think many will agree 300 ft. > 200 ft.

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

^Well, no.

You can tell there's a CP fanboy around when they presume bigger is better.

A good layout and intensity is what makes a ride good - being 300ft doesn't make it automatically better than something 200ft.

Oh and being 300ft means it's not a Hyper ;)

My first guess was just a poorly made track. It's just like the 'pumping' you get in NL2 if you don't have smooth radius curves. I wonder if it's just an artefact of that?

I think this looks like it'll be a solid addition to the park. Probably not going to set the world on fire, but it'll fit nicely in the park. I don't think the height, length, number of hills etc has anything to do with it. They might not have been trying to build the ultimate thrill machine... ;)

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

^ Or it might just be a straight piece of track

Mako's is very short though and its barely over water so idk :fadein:

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

I would hardly call this short, it's longer than most coasters, and it around the same length as Goliath at SFOG.
