I assume its trains will be like Blue Fire:

And here is a predicted layout of the coaster on No Limits:

I thought that video you posted is actually from Seaworld itself? They've used a car that isn't available for the General public, so my guessing is, it was done by them, making your statement about, "Predicted layout" totally unjustified.

And he may not have known it wasn't a standard car type in NL. What's 'unjustified' about that? :?

It was either "Unjustified" or "Wrong", but, saying wrong sounds harsher, so I settled for "Unjustified" ;)

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Oh wow I'm losing more and more interest in this coaster :S I thought the only thing it had going for it was the flying trains. So it is nothing more than a family coaster? And the "predicted layout" looks absolutely boring. Why couldn't they just copy the one from Orlando? Its a pretty sick coaster.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

@lofty: The NL team not only creates custom designs for theme parks, but they can also create the track as well if the park so wishes (which appears to be the case).

Why could not have you just read the first couple of pages of the topic? Why couldn't you have just read the TITLE? It would have cleared up your thoughts of a flying coaster right away, and prevented you from bringing up any mis-conceptions of an extraordinary layout.. ;)

You can't say anything about the layout until you have actually ridden it. Knowing SW they are going to implement theming into the ride, so stop blabbing about how"boring" of a layout it is.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

^^ Because it has a different purpose than that of the Orlando Manta. This is obviously designed to be a family orientated coaster. I actually thought it looked like a neat little coaster. I bet the themeing interaction will be good.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

And I believe it was also mentioned that this park has some height and/or sound restrictions in which they have to adhere to correct? So the Orlando iteration of Manta wouldn't really be plausible.

I can't wait to see the theming <3

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Yes San Diego is under strict height limitations.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Lofty, I dont know where the video is from.
I just found that video of Manta on Youtube and it looks similar to the construction photos, so I posted it to be able to show Venom2053 what sort of coaster it would be. Trying to clear the confusion up about this being a flying coaster on his behalf, and that was the best video I found. I dont know if its from seaworld or just a fanmade thing.

Basically, its a low to the ground twisty sort of family coaster.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

I personally think that this is going to be a good coaster, which draws comparisons with rita/desert race.
From the concept drawings, it looks like it has some decent airtime and some great theming!

Take a look at the stats:

Length: 2800'
Height: 30'
Drop: 54'(which points to some kind of terrain feature)
Speed: 43 mph
Duration: 2:00
G-Force: 4( :p )

And a picture!

Not so bad eh? :--D

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Are you showing this picturee cuz' it's new? Because it has been out for a while...

Either way, it's a great picture. Will this ride have 2 or 3 launches? I forget and I can't find the answer in this thread.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Isn't that the most sexy train you have ever seen :O

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

Just wow. That is actually pretty fantastic.

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

I wasn't expecting anything like this. I love Mack and Seaworld!

Re: Manta - Mack Launched Coaster for Sea World San Diego

I don't really see what's so surprising, it's just the same thing as a the front of the Orlando coaster on one of Mack's launched coaster trains?

It looks awesome, don't get me wrong, and those seats are so comfortable, but, a surprise? Nah.
