What's new

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

I do hope there's going to be some rockwork and foliage in that outer section and not just have it take place over a patch of grass. I still think Kondaa's grassy field is pretty barren and could use a lot more trees and bushes. OzIris has some bushes and light rockwork scattered around the queue, but only just around the queue, so I'm not expecting too much.

At this rate, this will be open before Pantheon.

Wait, nevermind.

Seriously, this project is progressing really nicely. How much track is left to be placed besides the spike and top hat? Between this and Parque Warner's project, 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for European parks.
let´s not forget the new area incl. coaster for Europapark which is also scheduled for 2023 opening.

Plus Energylandia tilt coaster.
And some other stuff which I'm sure hasn't been announced yet.
2023 for Europe is exciting!

Most excitingly though, we're getting TWO B&M wing shuttle launch coasters. You know, the thing that EVERYBODY has been clamouring for for years. ;)

Wow, looking really nice. The stall is far bigger than I pictured it being, too... How tall is this coaster meant to be? 160ft?

Mmm top hat:-

Eww trims:-

From what I've heard, the trims are essential on the top hat due to how tight the turn directly after it had to be with the access road. Funny how they marketed it as a feature though.

Yeah I don't know about that one. It could have just been as simple as, the cliffhanger drop was a feature the park requested. Based on plans of the ride found through the park's environmental analysis proposal, the proximity to the service road doesn't seem to be a design constraint: 1649197332051.png
Without the trims, it would have to have a shallower drop and therefore would end up with more speed after the drop. It would take up more space due to that, but it's still more than enough room between the drop & the service road.

Construction is moving on nicely

All the elements look so compact, and then you look at Pantheon and wow it makes it look drawn out when you compare... Excited!
