What's new

New attractions at Paultons Park

Fantastic, thanks Niles. The logo is upside-down on one gate and there's huge emphasis on the "forge". If this doesn't have inversions I'd be absolutely amazed. I wonder if the banners and shields have other clues...

Regarding Cobra, as others have said, it's sure to be rethemed. We can be certain no one will be able to ride "Cobra" after September 2025. Not meaning to be pedantic, it's just how I think RCDB is so certain that the ride - as it is - will be closing.
What if the two metal bars is a hint at two coasters, the logo is inverted on one but normal on the other. Perhaps a dueling coaster where one track is family and one is thrill.

It's a possibility, yeah. That would be a good idea, actually, as not everyone likes inversions. Two coasters sharing one structure - one, a genuine wooden-tracked family coaster and the other a Titan-tracked extreme coaster. That would be excellent.

If they made sure their next water ride was a water coaster as well, the park would have ten creds. 🤣

What if, and stay with me on this one, the wood and metal pattern made to look like a wooden gate is a reference to ... a theme appropriate wooden gate
Get out of here with this logic…

Anyway, I’m pretty certain I remember Lawrence Mancey saying his favourite cred was Wodan at Europa at the super fans event. Slam dunk if you ask me.

Only time will tell, there will be definite clues in those posters that’s for sure!

A fully wooden gate would have sufficed, but they chose to tease or trick us.

I don’t really think that's the case. I believe this is mainly due to Paultons' nature. The general public seems to be somewhat unaware of the Vikings area; I assume that not many people even knew about it until they saw this sign, so I’m making that assumption.

Some of you are massively clutching at straws.
To bring us back to reality... if you look carefully at the design, the mixture of wood and steel means it will be a hybrid coaster with each of the 20 spiked posts on the gate representing the 20 inversions. If you take the Rocks from the left portion of the design, the Metal from the gate section and the Circle of the shield on the right potion and put them together, Rocks, Metal, Circle = Rocks, Metal, Circle = RMC!
The two flags represent the two sides (duelling coaster confirmed)! The mirrored (flipped) logo confirms my suspicions that you'll be riding the coaster wearing mirrored goggles that make everything look upside down to add to the disorientation.
TLDR, 20 inversion duelling RMC with mirrored goggles. You're welcome.

From a staff member a while back….
Cobra and Magma to be rethemed to fit Vikings. Go karts and log flume to go. Beyond that he knew nothing else, or wasn’t giving any more of the game away. There’s a new electrical supply box near Edge, whether they’ll keep that too is anyone’s guess

Out of interest, has anyone done an overlay of real wooden coaster track and compared it to the one on the gate? To my untrained eye, it looks exactly the same proportions. Personally, I think the inverted logo and metal rails on the wooden gate are real clues, but we'll see.

I agree, if we are assuming that the inverted logo in the video means a coaster with an inversion, then inturn the inverted logo on the gate must be a clue. Therefore there must be other clues on the poster, which looks like it will be a wooden coaster.

Another excellent update from Dispatch_Jack, the best one yet, I'd say. There's lots of detail, including red and blue markers on the Go-Karts site, and a marker for the overall ground level of the themed area. Hopefully before long we'll see footers, which could give us another clue about the ride type:

I can’t work out if people are being sarcastic or not about an image of a gate. Are we genuinely reaching that far to think it’s a clue??? 😂

It’s an image of a viking gate, to indicate a viking themed area. It looks like a gate because it’s placed over a temporary work gate. It’s really not any deeper than that. Paulton’s advertising department are not criminal masterminds laying secret intricate clues. I understand people want to speculate and everything, but come on get a grip on reality here.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, I think there's a lot of speculation based on a Viking themed gate. The upside down logo is definitely a tease but otherwise, it's just fitting theming.

I'm sceptical that we'll get a wooden rollercoaster and if we do, it'd be either a 2nd rollercoaster or one that isn't traditional with inversions like Mineblower or a Hybrid coaster like an RMC or GCI Titan.

I’m fully on the gate hype. No sarcasm at all. Paultons could have easily designed this image with no horizontal supports on the gate, no one would have bat an eyelid. They could have designed the image to have wooden horizontal supports, again, no one would have bat an eyelid. They had complete control of this and decided to put the logo upside down and up the right way. They also made a conscious decision to include the iron horizontal supports.

We’ve had the main teaser with the molten iron being forged in the wooden frame so wood and iron is clearly a teasing route they’re going down. This was first showcase at an event literally put on for coaster enthusiasts, they’ve clearly got an appetite for teasing us.

From a historical perspective, I’m not sure iron was that common during the Viking Era? I know it was used for weapons and nails but they certainly wouldn’t have used it as horizontal bracing for wooden gates.

Edit: just to add to this, I think this gate section with the iron is the only section that features the logo upside down? I can’t see it on any of the other hoarding. To me, with a particularly open mind, this could be like a specific enthusiast / teaser section of the hoarding. Sounds ridiculous but I think there’s something in it.

This is, frankly, absurd and ridiculous speculation which is beyond comprehensive understanding.

Good job!

Some little updates from Paultons_hoot.

More is happening round the rest of the park too, solar panels look to be going on the restaurants and work has started on the solar car park covers.

On a tangent, i had a dream last night that the Paultons logo going upsidedown/twisting in the teaser turned into and S&S Axis train. That would be a sweet coaster to add and Europe was ment to get one right?

But naa im still for a woodie or water coaster or multi launch if a coaster is coming.

Edit: Also has anyone played the Ghost shooting game for a free ticket to Paultons, if so whats your highest score, i cannot get past 1780.
