^You'll hate me even more for these concert tickets I've got then. Can't wait actually; haven't seen her since 1998

Never seen her :( :( :( Now, where's my ban hammer..? ;)

I think I am the only person who may like my music, but still. My top 4 bands at the moment are Linkin Park, Disturbed, Enter Shikari, and Slipknot. However I do like some local folk music, so Show of Hands are good if you like folk, and they aren't particularly big and they come from England, so anybody in America will surely not have heard of them. Jango.com introduced me to some new bands, so check that out, and it will suggest bands that are similar to the ones you listen to online. :)

I dont know how to describe this, other than unique. It's a French artist called Caravan Palace and they play a sort of mixture between, Jazz, Funk, and Electronic. It's good, but you cant explain why.

Timor by Shakira

There isn't really a proper video for it, so I can't post it. I find the song very catchy and upbeat.

^^
Not really my genre, but as I've mentioned before SHE is much more my taste than bloody Taylor Swift! :p
Good effort!

EDIT: AND she's acheived the impossible - that is to say, made a Bring Me The Horizon song something dangerously close to listenable. That's a good effort as well...

I try to accept all genres, I'm not a big metalcore lover though (like BMTH as you've mentioned). But you're spot on with what you said about that collaboration.

I wasn't a fan of her first album, I just thought she was incredibly sexy. That being said, I was really surprised with her new release, it's a good 4/5 for me and I was more impressed with it than A Dramatic Turn Of Events!

It's such a trippy and distorted album, the lyrics are difficult but in a good way! Check this track out, it's an 8 minute instrumental which sounds like some old school Final Fantasy game music. :)

Timing of this is quite weird; Kate Bush's first new music in 6 years has been released this week.

I wasn't sure on the first listen, but can't get it out of my head now. Only Kate Bush could get away with a song about a yeti.

Can't wait for the album next month now.

This isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, but Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album is a **** masterpiece.

Usually when I listen to an album for the first time there are tracks I don't immediately like but eventually grow on me. I've listened to it three times now and enjoyed every single track. I have a feeling that could be a bad thing because I'm gong to overplay it and tire of it.

My brother gave me a ripped copy but after listening to two tracks, I downloaded it via iTunes because he deserves my money.

Yeah, I'm biased towards Noel because I spent my formative years listening to Oasis, but I feel this is the album that he's always wanted to create but couldn't because his brother held him back. He's a genius, the best British song writer for a generation imo (I'd also put Gary Barlow in same bracket...).

I doubt that most of you would download it but maybe I'm blinkered...I can't see why anybody would dislike it.

Lyrically, my favourite album of the year so far! Check these guys out, they've made art!

edit: overall, my favourite album of the year so far!

I suspect I've posted this before, but having one of those mornings when I remember JUST how good it is. Scandinavians at their best <3
Check out Destiny Calls from the same album, and spot the influences from the greatest prog-metal album of all time.

I tell you what, I'm going to download this tomorrow morning and play through the album while I'm at work, it sounds fabulous! It's got a lovely When Dream and Day Unite sound to it, especially in the vocals, and I just read up that it's a concept album telling a rather emotional story. Sounds sweet! I'll check this out! :)

Brand new Giant Squid EP released last week, It's unbelievable, it's only 5 songs. but is absolutely perfect. It's a fantastic mix of their 2 full length styles, the heavier sound of Metridium Field, and the progressive sound of The Ichtyologist. But dont take my word for it, listen for yourself.

Bought two albums the other day. First was Coldplay's new album, Mylo Xyloto. Not sure what to think really. Coldplay have been changing style slowly from fairly standard rock to what they are now, which is sort of stadium/electro rock. The album will probably grow on me. If you liked Prospekt's March (and Viva la Vida to a lesser extend), this is more of the same really.

Second album is an older release but still good. On an Island by David Gilmour. It's like Pink Floyd's 90s stuff, plenty of guitar solos and quite easy listening in places. Definitely a winner in my books anyway.

I really like On an Island, it's a weird mix of almost all of Floyds stuff, but the best bit is rather that you can trace back and work out which bits of Floyd Gilmore had the most influence over. Incredibly mellow album though, I can't think of many that are more relaxed at all.
