A few times i've been to a park but missed out on some of the major attractions for one reason or another, i'm sure many other people have too.
Firstly, I knew it wasn't open before I went, but visiting Kings Island and not being able to ride SOB was awful, I first started planning to visit the park before the ride closed, it was one of the main reasons I chose the midwest for my first trip to the US. Even though it has a really bad rep I still wish i'd had the chance to ride it. On the brightside, I first started looking at Holiday World to make up for missing out on a woodie, so i'd possibly never have ridden Voyage if SOB was open.
Another example was visiting Phantasialand earlier this year, after great days out at Toverland and Heide park me and my partner stayed over in Cologne. Unfortunatly due to pulling a muscle in her neck my partner was in agony all the following day, we decided to go ahead and visit Phantasialand whilst we were there hoping that the pain would subside as she hasn't had trouble with her neck before. After riding Black Mamba and Colorado Minetrain it was clear that the pain wasn't going away so we left the park after a few hours to head to Bruges for the last night of the trip. It couldn't be avoided but it's a shame we didn't get a change to ride Winja's and a few of the other rides there.
Other than that, it's just been Stealth at TP and Jubilee Oddyssey and various other rides not operating on the day of my visit.
Has anyone else had a similar experience where you've still enjoyed your trip or day at the park overall but missed out on one of the things you wanted to do?
