Missed coasters

I missed Primeval Whirl when I went to Disney because they were closed. Also didn't manage to ride the Flyers thing (cba to try and spell it) at Islands of Adventure as we never got to a park for opening which is when they usually let enthusiasts ride before it gets a queue.
Nothing too major. Almost didn't get to ride Colossos but lucky it opened so we got a ride on it before we had to go. :)

I've got quite a few:

Eejanaika - was a month off opening on my first visit to Fuji-Q, and closed for maintenance (they were planting a **** ing tree from what I could see) on my second visit.

Batman:The Ride at Magic Mountain - I'm actually quite relieved it was closed though because if I would have ridden it, I wouldn't have managed to get on Goliath (just got into the queue before it was closed off at the end of the day). I've ridden two Batman clones; I LOVED Goliath, so it worked out as a blessing really.

Almost everything at Expoland - Orochi (now in France anyway) was down for maintenance. I managed to ride Daidarasaurus, which was ****, but when I finally got off the bloody thing it was pouring down and they'd closed practically everything else. I managed one other coaster, some kiddy thing, and that was it. Again, maybe a blessing since Fujin Raijin 2 actually killed someone the day after I was there.

Everything at Parque de Attracciones - because the website lies and/or they closed everything because of a bit of rain earlier in the day. NOTHING was running apart from one side of the drop tower, even though, according to the website, the rides were operating until 10 or 11pm that day. I arrived at 6, after any rain had well and truely stopped, and got **** all.

I originally missed Black Hole Express, then called Scream Machine, formerly known as Horror Express, and had no intention of going back to the park, but ended up changing my mind and going back, almost 2 years later, just before I left Korea to make sure I got it. I'm glad I did now, as it's probably my favourite Vekoma looper.

Edit - Just looked in the coaster counting topic and remembered that I missed the Toboggan thing at Lakemount.

I'm sure there are others as well, I just can't think of them right now.

Wasn't she a TEFL teacher as well?

If it had been a vendetta held by the ride, it may well have been you <//3

^I imagine a few people here might give Togo the love it deserves if it was actually responsible for my death.

I missed out on riding the mine train in Disneyland Paris because I simply ran out of time.

Whats it called? ...Big thunder rail something...

Anyway, two weeks later, someone got injured on it as part of the themeing fell off.

Atlantis Adventure.

Been to Lotte World TWICE, and was spited both trips. The damn thing was even TESTING the whole time I was there the first time.

Wow, I would have been absolutely gutted to be in either of your shoes. Its one thing to miss out on something a couple of hours from where you live, but thats just heartbreaking.

The vulgar Woodie at Movie Park Germany. See previous sentiment.

I'm presuming you mean 'The Bandit' but isn't it just the same as Viper at SFGAm? I found that to be half decent, in an average kind of way.

I also just remembered Queen Bee being closed when I went to Bottons a month or two ago
Ah well :p

Same basic layout, yes, but, different manufacturers. And being the same layout doesn't mean anything for woodies - which are very dependant on how well the park looks after them.

Same as Psyclone which was at SFMM, that they took down because it was too horrid.

And Bandit has an awful, awful reputation. And it's RCCA, who have never made a good coaster, so.

^^Well, Eejanaika was only a couple of hours from where I lived (more like an hour and a half really) at the time, but I left it until right before I left Japan before I went to Fuji-Q that second time.

I'll hopefully end up back over in that part of the world again, and Fuji-Q have Takabisha now as well, so I've got enough reasons to head back to the park when I get chance.

I hadn't realised, I just remember seeing the POV and thinking it was exactly the same, foolish, I know.
I couldn't decide whether to go to this park since most or the rides seen to be themed to a story, which I wouldn't get much of since I barely speak a word of German. I think you've just made up my mind if Bandit is rough and the other coasters are a wild mouse and an SLC.

Sound's great, i'd love to get over to that part of the world someday, my partner's not so keen on the idea, but the massive language barrier would be an issue. I'm guessing Fujiyama has something to do with your respect for Togo?

^Language barriers are really only an issue if people have absolutely no common sense. I'd never let that stop you from doing something, or you end up missing out on so much.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for Togo, yeah. The only really awful one I've been on is the stand up at Kings Dominion. The one at Canada's Wonderland (basically the same thing?) was absolutely fine. Fujiyama and Bandit are both really good coasters in my opinion.

@ Gavin, yeah i've been into Europe a couple of times and got by, but relied on Sat nav and people having English as a second language, I would imagine it would be more difficult in some parts of Asia.

And that's just typical, the one Togo you don't like and i'm likely to be riding it next year. I had hoped it wouldn't be too painfull because it only has 1 inversion (from what I remember)

@ CoasterCrazy, I missed Flying Fish this year, I actually intended on going on it as it was the only credit I was missing, but deciding to go on Loggers Leap for the first time set me back 2 hours and I ended up missing it. I'll be going on it next year after Swarm.

Yeah, language barriers aren't really a problem. Just use your brain and be prepared.

If we managed China without even learning hello, I'm sure you can manage Japan.

For me I must follow the SOB trend although I knew for sure when I planned my trip that it was very much so dead. Another is Deja Vu at SFMM. Stupid height restrictions! And they didn't believe that I was too tall until I got up there. Good thing there was a single rider line. Got the same experience on Aftershock at Silverwood so suck it MM, lol. But really, I love you.

Just remembered, I got majorly spited by the Pinfari at Brean. It was open and running, I bought wristband, walked over, it was closed. 10 mins later they removed the train! </3

I haven't actually been spited by anything that I REALLY wanted to ride, but there is quite a lot of general spite I can think of...

Primeval Whirl spited.

LOADS of kiddies, LOADS. The worst was the one at Seabreeze, we stole kids and everything and the witch STILL wouldn't let us on.

Oh, and the Go Gator at Flamingo Land is a personal vendetta, made worse by the fact that loads of CFers have it now <////3.

The TOGO at Kings Dominion and the mine train at Hershey spited us on our east coast trip in 2008. Oh, and the Invertigo at SFA, but we knew about that before so it was fine.

A couple of parks in China (with like, one kiddie coaster) spited, but again, they were just bonus ones so it wasn't too bad. The only spite on that trip were coasters we knew wern't finished, like the ones in Hong Kong (actual 4 being built <//3), the GIB at Jin Jiang and the S&S at Happy Valley Shenzhen.

Oh, actually, I got spited by Battlestar at Universal Studios Singapore, but once again it had been SBNO for ages so It wasn't a shock. I don't think it opened for another good few months after I was there, so it's less spiteful.

Not bad considering the amount of years I've been mincing to creds...

Only ever missed Primeval Whirl and Gwazi Tiger, since they were down when I visited. Primeval Whirl is no big loss, but it would have been nice to do the other side of Gwazi.

I ALWAYS miss out flying fish when I go to TP, I think 'what's the point?'

What's the point? WHAT'S THE POINT?!?! The point is that you might miss a Flying Fish rollback! Oh, and because of the cred...oh God, have I really become one of them?!

I have been quite lucky really in the respect that I have so far visited parks in the UK, which most of coarse requires minimal effort. Having said that I am sure the second I start going to parks that involve much more effort and a lower percentage of me re-visiting those parks, that me luck will run out and ill start missing rides.

Yeah, for me for example, I guess I did't mention these before but I missed tons at CP because I really wanted to enjoy my stay and although some of the less intense rides probably didn't have lines, they would have been waaay out of the way in such a large park which would have meant no rerides on awesome coasters like Millennium Force, Maverick, TTD, and Magnum. So I actually ended up missing Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Jr. Gemini, Wildcat, and Woodstock Express.
