Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

Recognize that all employees you find working on the midway go to the exact same rumors sources enthusiasts do.

Where you able to grab any photos?

I was aware that they followed the same sources we did I heard nothing that we haven't speculated yet. Only thing I did hear that we hadn't discussed was a Diamondback queue attendant that said that it would have a helix and a corkscrew, but given that I had to explain to her the difference between the two elements, she PROBABLY wasn't that reliable... :p

Dirt and concrete blocks in dirt photo time!

Stuck this through the fence to take it

To the back you can see them pour a second triangular footer

They put these "No Camping" signs on some of the trees between the path and the fence. I asked a path sweep who said that they were part of the same thing.

More dirt! Look at the queue tunnel for Adventure Express in the back ground. Down and a bit left of it is that second triangular footer.

Let's set up camp here! (seriously, sneak a tent into the park and set up a really elaborate campsite complete with a fire pit and everything right here and you have officially become my favorite person)

I took another picture because the first one was a tad blurry.

You can kind of see some footers in the background of this picture, but nothing earth shattering. But seriously, ride Flight Deck and Adventure Express. I came pretty close to sneaking my camera onto Flight Deck to photograph from that angle. The whole thing is on a large, grassy hill that comes after a small dip behind the dirt area we've seen. Also, my cousin and my sister dragged me on Drop Tower against my will and my dad didn't get my text and call the cops in time, so I got to see it from there. You probably get the best view of it from there, but knowing our luck they turned us facing the parking lot at the top of the tower.

Pardon my stupidity, but I saw these round footers in line for Adventure Express. Were these from Son of Beast or are they Banshee?

They look pretty new but there is that clearance sign on the one. Sorry for being so stupid about this, I'm just not sure.

Y'all owe me HUGE for this next group of photos! I went on Eiffel Tower and took these! AND I'M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!!! I had to grab my cousin's arm to feel safe walking far enough out to photograph this!

Clydewell is behind Sling Shot but you can still see him. The two big triangular ones look pretty close to each other, though. My thought was that the large invert would have a drop shaped similar to Raptor's where it's more of a turn and drop than a dive, and this could definitely support that.

Footers and Flight Deck!

Construction site overview

Best shot I got all day. You can see the entire construction site from here. That grassy stripe over by Flight Deck's turn is on a hill even though it's hard to see, and a pretty big hill to boot. This spot is pretty terrainy and I think KI might play on it.

So that's my first (very long) construction update, but I hope I did that right! Let me know if I didn't! I might not have noticed Clydewell before but if he isn't new I'm sure those "No Camping" signs are.

Those are footers from King Cobra, the old Togo Stand-Up that Delirium replaced.

Thanks! They really didn't seem like Banshee's. I remember walking past King Cobra when I was very young but I never rode it.

And you're all wrong. It's the world's first MOLLY ORANGE hyper log flume with a loop. :)

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

Not that I think for a second this is anything but a B&M invert, it was fun to see people jump on that bandwagon.
lol

At this point it's just speculation so why not spawn the most outrageous things

If that last triangular support is going to support the drop the lift hill doesn't seem to be that long (unless it is really steep which is usually not the case with inverts although B&M have been building some steeper hills lately). I still hope this will be a record breaking invert and I'm really looking forward to it! :--D

It could be either a compact invert, like OzIris....

Or a smaller dive coaster, like Krake

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

I would actually envision a "Cedar Fair" invert layout that we have seen with Raptor, Talon, Silver Bullet, and Patriot.

- Drop height around 120 ft.
- Inversions: Loop, zero-g roll, immelmann (or preferably a cobra roll), corkscrew (or two), finale helix

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

IF this really is a MASSIVE invert like some are speculating, could it be the first invert with 10 inversions? I mean with size of area, we could see something like this combination: Loop, batwing, cobra, 2 zero g rolls. immelman (or dive loop), double corkscrew. It would be extremely expensive, but it could be done.

I personally think it will be the first B&M 4D, but I would love to see a dive machine with a long layout.

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

Could we possibly be looking at a much larger version of Raging Bull being placed here? The lift hill goes back out towards the ravine from the station (those two holes dug signal that). Those triangular supports though make it look like it will pass near the station at one point during the ride in either an overbank or hammerhead type element.

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

Wait... Compact invert Oziris? You're having a laugh, right? It's not exactly compact...

Re: Kings Island 2014 Roller Coaster

I was able to stop by the park today, to grab some new photos of "theming" which has been added to the construction site.

First an overview

IMG_13.jpg

Notice what would appear to be transfer/brake run footers that are already in place. New footers are also being dug next to Flight Deck and Adventure Express, which is showing an ever growing footprint for this attraction.

Down on ground level, the fence work remains, with some new additions.

IMG_1355.jpg

IMG_1369.jpg

As Jarrett mentioned, new "No Camping" signs, to go in-line with the missing campers/screams in the dark theme.

IMG_1365.jpg

IMG_1366.jpg

But if we try to take a quick peak through a large gap in the fence...

IMG_1363.jpg

We find Mr. Scarecrow staring right back.

IMG_1364.jpg

But he is sure to bring friends, which are hanging out further back on footers.

IMG_1371.jpg

What to watch for next: construction equipment is currently posted on the opposing hillside, beyond Adventure Express and Flight Deck. If we see footers crop up there, then we will definitely have a better sense of where this new attraction will be.
