What's new

Kentucky Kingdom | Storm Chaser | RMC Conversion

Nice!

I think I'm looking forward to this more than Joker. Yes it is shorter, but I like the layout more and seems to have a lot more airtime. I feel they didn't really show it off well with that **** video.

RMC has updated their Facebook page. Sometimes I forget about how exciting construction really is! Hopefully we'll start to see updates more often.

Wicked Cyclone was incredible despite the height disparity between the larger RMCs, and I'm sure this will be just as fun.

Coaster Studios uploaded a short update on Storm Chaser construction:

For a brief summary, everything up to the drop is done.

Also the airtime hill is being worked on.

Yep the drop and first airtime hill is pretty much done. The airtime hill especially looks to be quite more intense and sharper than other hills RMC has done.

KK's website now boasts a rendering of the trains on one of their graphics.

I think that light blue and green storming around red track on that nice industrial steel truss will look amazing myself. Shame Crittenden Drive (the street to which it runs parallel) is so ghetto because if it were nice this would provide a really good backdrop to a nightlife district or shopping center or something. Should still be cool driving around it, though.

Cool design. I love blue-green color combos. I agree that the street next to this can do so much with the new opportunity.

And is it a bad thing that I can tell that the original image is Wicked Cyclone? :p

Here's a cool construction video my buddy Scott at Upstop Media filmed earlier this week:

I'd assume so the wheels/train would run better. Probably a more efficient way than having to wait for the paint to scratch off.

So being worn is now a theme of KK? :p

Knowing KK, I can see them trying to get the most efficient way of running a coaster without much maintenance(though RMCs require little to no maintenance anyways...). But if that's its only purpose, at least give it a thin layer of paint or something to at least look nicer?

That first airtime hill looks intense!

My buddy Scott from Upstop Media stopped by Kentucky Kingdom on his way home from Dollywood. Check out this view from the top of Storm Chaser he posted today: [tweet]http://twitter.com/UpstopMedia/status/697823467421462530[/tweet]

^ That's a totally awesome video!

I'm surprised how much space that is freed up with the removal of one of the coasters.
