Aight, announcement was made recently, the new area be
Discovery Meadows. Basically they're taking that sparse back midway and throwing seven new rides into that space, four of which are being relocated from within the park. Everything save Mile High Falls is being renamed, which includes three coasters (Storm Chaser -> Wind Chaser, Thunder Run -> Woodland Run, Roller Skater -> Hollyhock & Roll). In short, it's an extremely drastic change for the park.
Do not be fooled by the breadth of the concept artwork, as really they're doing a lot with very little. Most of these attractions are taking up tight footprints on the path and they're not expanding into any backlots. The Flying Scooters in particular will be relocated within
Storm Wind Chaser's infield and just north of the barrel roll. A lot of much-needed presence is coming to the back of the park.
Speaking of the Flying Scooters, the four attractions being relocated are mapped out below (red), including the swinging ship. Combine that with the expected removal of Cyclos (yellow) and these are
very interesting choices indeed. More on that next season perhaps.
In terms of other removals the rest of the back half is no more. It would appear for all intents and purposes that both the rapids and Superloop are dead, and nobody is really shedding any tears. Deluge water coaster is also currently coming down as well finally after sitting abandoned for a couple years, and with T3 gone that entire shoddy back alleyways area is real estate for future expansion.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. The two rethemed coasters are seeing new paint, particularly Hollyhock & Roll which is going from all yellow to purple track and green supports.

Overall bright times ahead for Kentucky Kingdom, looks like Herschend is really cleaning up the park.
