Intimidator 305 - Kings Dominion Giga coaster

There's only 2 rides I ever said were sexy - Geforce, and, ironcally, silverstar. And I hold by GeForce... in fact, 3 years after I rode it, I'm wearing the shirt right now!

No... I merely drool at the sight of this rollercoaster. And have a strong, sudden urge to go to america more than I already did.
 
^Silver Star looks good but is a really boring ride.
Expedition GeForce however, looks amazing, rides amazing and IS amazing!
 
^Yeah, but from what I've seen in pics, the transitions make it look like that too, well maybe not the transitions, more the elements.
 
I guess it's a pretty square-ish layout, and the 180* over banked turns don't help the sort of 'blocky' feel of it. Still, not guite so rct-ish as PMBO...
 
So... did they put the last piece in this week or not?

Between the crap webcam and the crap blog, who ever knew what was going on with this thing?

At least I should have zero problems riding it opening day.
 
The way it looks in the webcam, no. But hopefully by tomorrow or Tuesday Clint will have another video up.

As for updates.. checking out KDFansite's thread on the ride gives much more recent news than anything else tbh.

Are there any stats on the drop angle, lift speed, predicted g-forces etc? I'm not gonna be able to tide this until I get myself through uni and can afford my own holidays, but at least I can fantasize about it.

Looks really ace, and when they finish of all the ground works and the trees, etc. gets all green in the spring it will be eve better.
 
Well that just looks delicious. I'm really wondering how long this puppy will last.. 3 minutes is a massive overstatement.

More like IF they finish the ground work and add trees. Cedar Fair does not have the greatest landscaping record when money can be saved by throwing it out of the budget all together. :roll:
 
^Then they probably won't bother cutting down the weeds that will inevitably start growing in the wet mud. So it's gonna be green either way.


And oh wow at this. Looks beautiful.

I would, except of course, you'll have to fly to either RIC, ORF or PHF to catch that ride.

I'm not driving past the park to come get you.

Well. It looks more impressive than when the concept art came out. Still looks like it has missed a great opportunity for more airtime though. Too many twists and turns.
