This is great news! I suppose the whole building work was delayed by the (flood and the) spacial issues of the space they're working in.

Now watch it go up like wildfire... :--D

This just in! Hersheypark has announced the addition of Storm Runner into their coaster line-up today. [/slowpokenewscast]

Keystone Thrills posted to their facebook page that vertical construction has OFFICIALLY begun people. Expect an update with the first pictures to go live later tonight!

Yay! Also, rumor has been flying around that they are going to be using lapbars on Skyrush as well! Will this pan out into a much needed escape from OTSR and the induced pains, or is this still JUST A RUMOR?

I don't see them "bringing back" the lap bars for this just because of the weird trains this is getting.

We'll see though. Layout wise there's no reason not to, and they use them on the Mega Lites and some other things lately, so they've obviously not totally fallen out with them.

Great! It seems like most other manufacturers are moving away from otsr like Mack, Maurer Söhne, Gerstlauer.. It's a great trend and I hope the two "big ones", Intamin and B&M, follow that trend :) It's such a pity that Intamin put otsr on almost everything even if it's not needed (Rita etc). So it would be great if this was lap-bar only!

^^^^ Yes, a KST update...keep a look out for it. They have two pictures up on their facebook group ala Walter.

^^^ Like I said, rumor. If it happens, COOL! If not, then eh. Supposedly some SkyRush talk happened at IAAPA this year, but I havent watched it yet to see what it all said. They did not have a SkyRush car available to be seen, so that means they could still be developing it more thoroughly.

^^ Yep. Gerstlauer did confirm that the SDL trains they are doing will be Lapbar only, and that they now have the option for parks with a Eurofighter installed to replace the trains with lap restraints only. Beemer seems to be sticking true to their lapbar only system for all the hypers and single giga out there.

Not to be nitpicky, but it's Gerstlauer who manufacturers the eurofighters, not Maurer Söhne :wink: And yes, most (if not all) manufacturers except Intamin put lapbars on their non-looping coasters. What I meant was that more and more manufacturers (the ones I listed) put lapbars also on their looping coasters! :)

Wrong use of words there. It's not up at all, several sections of supporting are up. Jumping the gun a bit there wasn't you? ;)

Eh. Mini info update for you guys. Track is possibly going vertical this weekend hopefully, according to Hersheyparks Facebook page.

Also, a little more info on the restraint system. Two sources have claimed it will be an over the head Lapbap restraint system. I, for one, dont believe it and think it will be more similar to Raptors restraints, which kinda look like a lapbar, bit with the harness straps to keep you snug. We will see though.

^I think it will be like I305s new restraints. Not quite solid, but kinda mesh-y. Tornado at Bakken also has these Intamin type restraints.

Im currently arguing with the person who claims to have seen the train renders (aside from the one released on announcement day). I dont see them getting nothing but a lapbar as that would kill your thighs. I still think they will be something akin to Raptors, but maybe a bit more freedom.
