What's new

Formula 1™ Topic

Not sure I like this F1, it's very GP3/World Series by Renault.

Christmas came early because Hamilton and Vettel broke. Plus 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th in Fantasy F1!

Was an ok 1st race good to see two new podium finishers.

Merc have a huge gap to the rest and the next race will show it more.

Yup. Will be putting Hamilton in next race as his value will drop a bit now. S'all good.

Still so happy, those early engine failures couldn't have happened to a better two people if they'd tried!

Tbh I was rather looking forward to seeing nico and lewis battling for the win and vettel trying to fight through so we were robbed a bit there.

Maybe. But Vettel and Hamilton are a pair of twats, so the LOLs were worth it 100%.

Oh well looks like a mclaren 2 3 as rbr seem to have broken the fuel rule.

Looks like Ferrari as well.

Edit. Ferrari are meant to be ok now.

If that's how the rest of the season is going to be, I'll be watching even more closely. Lots of wheel-to-wheel, lots of new drivers to watch out for. Best of all, the notion that there's probably going to be less conservation this year. Don't know if Sky mentioned it, but Melbourne is supposed to be quite hard on fuel usage and after just one safety car, teams were telling drivers fuel wasn't an issue at all. Great stuff!

Edit: There was apparently mention of running some other races under the maximum fuel limit.

Promoted to 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th. Good start for me. Have Rosberg, Hamilton, Bottas and Hulkenberg in my team for next week. All downhill from here lol

Stupid Red Bull too, he'd have finished 4th or 5th if they hadn't cheated.

All races have the fuel limit.

What I meant was that some team members had calculated that they wouldn't need to put 100 kg of fuel in to run the entire race at full pace at some circuits. It was briefly mentioned by DC in the commentary.

Yeah, at races like Monaco for example, they'd use less than 100kg anyway, even before this year. Silverstone is usually quite low on fuel too.

The three worst are Bahrain, Melbourne and Hungary.

Add in Canada as well. It's the worst for brakes and fuel. It's basically anything with lots of start stops.

They are actually worried about charging the electrics at Silverstone due to the lack if really heavy braking areas.

After seeing the cars slide cannot wait to see them at Spa, corners will no longer be flat :)

Nico did not push in the race, he had loads of fuel left. It's scary the advantage that Merc engine has, the drivers can push far more than Ferrari and Renault.

About Ferrari their engine is over weight and this is affecting them and their teams.

That Williams has some pace :)

Looks like we now have the same team now then. Really wish they would not show the fixed in teams. Actually shocked I'm not further behind tbh. My team was looking good until the lights went green lol. Not sure how you can add Lewis as it will take you above the 40 million?

Have they changed it to take into account penalties and dq's as they never used to take it into account.

Sounds like rbr were warned in the race today that they were well over the limit and they ignored the warming. Tbh they probably got caught out due to the lack of testing.

What I don't get is why even put in extra fuel? You cannot use it and your just carrying extra weight around.

^ They didn't use too much fuel, they are also limited on the flow rate of 100kg an hour. RBR exceeded this multiple times, hence the punishment.

Gutted to see Lewis drop out so early, but it happens and hopefully a clean run from here.

Really nice not to have a race dominated by fuel/tyre preservation, looking forward to Malaysia even more now!

Not sure there are some reports saying they actually used to much fuel as well which I found strange as I said as I see no point in over filling a car. Maybe that's what they meant.

By doing what they done they gained performance and were warned about it on Friday and Saturday as well.

Rbr also got a warning about the nose camera, they were trying to use it to help the aerodynamics. They are not allowed to have it rear facing.

The next race will really show us the true order, if it does not rain that is.

I still fully expect merc to totally dominate.

At least if this year has a dominant car, the two drivers are fairly evenly matched on ability. I mean, I'd still put money on Lewis, but not to the extent of Vettel over Webber.

I did well with Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Sutil. Vettel has dropped in value, so I'm removing Sutil from my team and replacing him with Seb. Hopefully both he and RBR will get their **** together come Malaysia.

And I hate the way the cars sound now. :(

F1 has come under a lot of stick due to the sound and the complete lack of racing at the weekend.

Did not really get the talk of lack of racing until I saw the race again today. Bottas was the only one who really passed cars and that was due to being totally out of position.

Hopefully Sepang will change people's views or make matters even worse.

I love the sound though :( The little hiss when they're downshifting from the turbo waste gate is awesome.
