Drayton have recently stated that the coaster planned for next year has been pushed back to 2014. Planning applications were submitted to the local council several months back, and now this picture has surfaced on Facebook:

This looks like a launch coaster to me. Booster bike maybe?

:)

We can be sure of one thing... it will be terrible :D

Looks very short, and i'm sad it's not a woodie :(

Yeah, looks like a mini Blue Fire.

If it is, it's such a wasted opportunity to have something so short. Even though Manta isn't a brilliant coaster, at least it has a decent length to it.

If it is a Mack, then it'll be great fun for the four seconds you're on it

To be fair, even though it's a fake it won't be a million miles away from what they actually get, we won't be creaming over it, but I'm sure it will make a nice addition to the park.

Yeah, this was originally posted on TTF a few days ago by the artist. Not as a hoax, but just as "this'd be a cool idea..."

Hopefully their actual ride will be a lot more interesting than this...

The plans for the coaster should be online - they were submitted ages ago. I've had a quick look but couldn't find anything.

From what I was told last month, the coaster has been put on hold. It will happen, possibly in 2014, but it depends on many factors. The fake image above is correct in respect that it involve the lake and contains one of the elements. So yeah, it's not too far away from those "plans", which, if it's built, will be a UK first.

That's really odd. I can find all of their planning applications relating to the hotel and campsite (go to http://planning.lichfielddc.gov.uk/ and do a search for B78 3TW) but nothing for any attractions within the park itself. I've tried no end of combinations of search terms, with no success. I can't even find any applications for any previous attractions. Very strange.

I'd imagine, given their recent direction, that a ride of this style/size/length would be likely, seems to be a bit of a shift into a young thrillseeker sort of style of rides, maybe a change of direction. Maybe I'm jumping the gun massively.

Why would someone go to that much effort?
He's doing it for Portfolio work by the look of it. If you look at his other products, he's done it before, not to this extent, but he has, so it seems like he's just getting them all under his belt to then go to parks and say, "I can do this, are you interested".

If only these were real :(

Something like this would be fab. I feel that the main thing Drayton are lacking at the moment is a fun, re-rideable coaster, filling the gap between Ben 10 and the two major creds. If they ARE going to get another coaster, it probably will end up being something along these lines as it's unrealistic to expect anything huge anyway. I'll be following this if anything gets confirmed, but it appears that we won't know for ages either way...

I really do hope Drayton do get a new big thrill ride/ coaster soon. As I visit the park 1 day, every year and it's a really fun day out. I love it their. I will wait outside Gforce as soon as the park gates open, making sure me and my friend are the first people on it that day. After that we do Shockwave, then some flats and just whore Poccie for an hour eat and just reride all of the thrill rides/ coasters and Ben 10.

Apocolypse would be p1ssed if she heard you call her that ;)

But know, your right, Drayton Manor is a nice park in a relaxed atmosphere, anything like this would make a nice addition, like Jake said, we're not going to get an Intamin Mega or a 100ft tall,4000ft long GCI but this a happy medium for us*

*If it actually materialises.

^ Yeah, it's vile.

Abbreviations are fine, but purposely made nicknames are hideous.

The ultimate worst are ones which are actually longer than the actual name, like 'Swarmie' </////3.

It's just so cringe and try-hard.
