Derek's Dueling Coaster Comp

A small, but significant update here, with a screen of the first drop :

Everything is not done yet, but this pic gives you a big clue about Compromise's (unique ?) style ...

You can see a rather small first drop and... the terrain ! Well, it's quite difficult to describe in English for me (even in French actually...), but every single square of the duelling's ground is raised, tilted to give this particular impression.

Pokemanic Yep, I made Skjebnes. It was in my opinion the ride in which I best used the terrain. Unfortunately, even though I managed to retrieve the scenario, I don't have all the necessary sceneries to open it (does anyone have Spaceworx and MNM's leftovers ?).

@portemine I'm eager to watch any videos of the rides in motion. My experience of duelling two coasters of different types have always been hard and stressful. I found that they travelled at different speeds around the tracks due to weights and lengths. I'd love to see to learn how you tackled that problem.

The POV is not ready yet.
But...

Some more trailer pics before the vid (which I hope will come tonight, if I manage to overcome the game's bugging when anti-aliasing is activated) !

See you in a few hours !

I have work my ass off on this, I planned to begin recording today. But that isn't going to happen I loaded the game up only for it to crash, so I loaded it again, it crashed and again and again. After resetting and reloading in a moment of anger I have managed to completely ruin my PC`s monitor connection port on my PC`s tower, this wont be fixable within the time restraints so with reluctance I will have to forfeit this competition. :( Sorry.

^That sucks, I was really looking forward to seeing your project.

I don't know if I can finish this all for tomorrow, but I'll try my best.

I see that a few of you are having issues right now and I don't want anyone to be discouraged to enter because of a loose set of time constraints. I'm going to extend the deadline a week to March 3rd. I would much rather have more entries and wait a little longer than just go off of the few that have entered. Please respond if you think this will help you get it in. If we can get the entries in earlier than the 3rd then I will start the judging process then. Good luck to you all!

Well actually I was well on course to be on time - though only narrowly. I have recorded both coasters and am currently video editing.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing your entries too !

Because I`am boss I have performed open heart surgery on my PC and have managed to fix it, phew, I`am going to get it recorded tonight because this has cost me a lot of hours and stress enough as it is and I just want this whole project complete lol. But the week extra will still be a huge help, it will give me time to create and upload without having to rush it, as I have lost about 6 hours of work time today. So on that note thanks Derek.

Ok. So here we go :

Compromise : Classic

Compromise : Current

Will a compromise live up to your high expectations ? ^^

That was really good! The CS was used brilliantly, not too little, but it wasn't overdone. What packs did you use? What video editing program did you use?

All done very well except for a lack of station floor for Current.

Very, very good otherwise though and most custom supports looked like they were proper in game ones.

Thank you for your comments ! Glad you liked my entry :)

I cannot believe I completed this is only under a week. Before that, I never finished anything themed under a month.
I'm taking a short break (3 or 4 days) from RCT3 after such a tiring, nerve-wrecking (and cool) project. But I'm still going to visit the forum, to see how the contest unfold, your reactions, and post some pics from my older creations.

Josh73 I used :

JCat's Steelworx AND Mouseworx (footers, supports, building structures, random stuff)
Moby's Steeljungle 1 (supports)
Moby's Steeljungle 2 (supports and footers, random stuff)
SKHGR71 (roofs, floors)
Shy-Rockset
Pumper's Darkride set (the tunnel)
ATH Catwalk
KLN Framework (wall structures, random stuff)

Windows Movie Maker for the video
Adobe Photoshop for the logos

Thekingin64
Oops. Completely forgot about that floor. I think I have accidently deleted it because I disliked the color, and didn't find one satisfying enough.

Haha! I totally know what you mean about pushing these things out in record time. I never would have gotten through projects this fast if it weren't for these competitions. I tend to find that I will just spend a few hours maybe once or twice to complete my entries because I will get on a roll and not want to stop.

Also, glad to hear we have a hardware expert in here Colossus. I'm interested in seeing how many more will enter before the deadline (2 or 3 at least I'm hoping :|)

Here we are then, finally its all finished and ready, after god knows how many hours (I`am going to start taking note of this lol) and nearly breaking my PC. I present to you. Clash of the Titans.
Baring no connection to the film, this is a pair of individually unique B$M Flyers go by individual names of Hades (black and red)and Hercules. (white and yellow)

This is damn hot ! The music fits very well the theme, and the interactions are impressive (especially the double vertical loop) I love how the coasters dive under sea-level ground. Some parts on Hades are slightly rough I think. Still a great dueling though :)

And... how did you get excitement like this ? Mine are only like 7.50 and 7.80 !
