No! Revenge of the Ambiguous Signs that don't really tell you much on what kind of coaster it is but you think they do and it generates 2000 pages of spammy rumors!

People, when we're at the discussion about what coaster they can get, let's not forget to mention the 4D-coasters. Because Cedar Point totally has room for a 60-70 meter tall monster with trains the size of city buses, and a support structure that makes it even to a city block in terms of blocking out the sun.

With that out of the picture, we can go on to the fabled AquaTrax. What makes it different to Maverick? Not very much, by and large. Anyway, it would be bad business sense to install one right after Maverick, kinda like building two GCI woodies after each other at some other park. Show a GP member POVs of Maverick and Atlantis Adventure, and see if they see the difference. If they do, they would favour Maverick "because it goes upside down".

The GIBs are actually a possibility too. No, wait, they're not. *glances at huge shuttle Inverted coaster sitting at the beach*.

GCI is a tricky possibility. A large GCI would look similiar to Mean Streak in terms of twistyness, but ride very differently. Problem is, a ride is meant to be marketed to people who haven't ridden it yet. And the GP would have trouble seeing the difference before they have ridden both. However, a movie theme *sigh* would certainly help hiding the fact that the ride is very similiar to a previous ride in the park. *glances at Psyclone's previously emtpy spot*.
However, if they were to build a GCI big enough to handle the crowds of the Cedar Point peninsula, it would be quite awesome. Compare the size of the existing GCIs to their placement in polls...

Anything that doesn't eat crowds can also be ruled out. Sorry to say that P'n'Ps are impossible, but what's their selling point? Huge air hills. What does huge air hills require that CP doesn't have? Room.
And while a Balder clone would have a reasonably small footprint, its capacity isn't near large enough for what CP needs. Also, it would be dwarfed by Mean Streak, not exactly easy to market "the second largest Wooden Coaster in the park!"

DM? Where would you put that? There are interesting possibilities here if we look past that, though.

Just be kind and forget Eurofigthers, please. Unless Gerstlauer has a new giant breed of the kind lying somewhere, we can rule out that coaster type. The same problems would apply to a Giga Eurofigther as a DM too, they would essentially be the same ride type. However, no one have heard rumours of Gerstlauer going past the "small and cheap"-market.

Spinning coasters are also a no. Capacity compared to draw = oh, no (any new coaster at such a large park will draw guests like they handed out money at the ride exit, at least the first year). After a year or two, it could have been manageable, but the clogging would have been a nightmare until then. Any giant breed (imagine Disk-Os on a regular track) would also have capacity issues, it takes too long to load those. I won't even mention the clearance, thus footprint, such a ride would require.

Hypers have great capacity, thrill factor and marketability. CP knows that, they're one of extremely few parks that has more than one of them. A third... no chance.

My money's on GCI for the moment. It seems like the only feasible candidate. Until they start digging tunnels, of course...

^What he said.

Of course, the creation of a smaller GCI, much like Prowler, Evel Kinevel or Renegade could work out. The way CP trys pump out trains, a longer but smaller GCI could work out quite nicely.

I wouldn't even worry about marketing the new ride atm. As they said when they created Maverick, height and speed aren't everything.

^ Didn't you say that they probably would have already started construction by now if it's a new coaster, though? I mean we haven't even seen track or anything.

I really am hoping for a GCI similar to Prowler or even Evel Knievel, but we'll have to see.

Yeah. I still stand by my belief that nothing will be built.. COASTER WISE.. but who knows what else could be thrown back there.

Probably nothing.

I was just pointing out that a GCI of that size would fit.

^ Why are people saying it's nothing, though? It's obviously something, but with the lack of construction I am doubting a coaster for 2010. Possibly 2011, and this will just kinda be a smaller attraction or ride until then, but yeah I'm doubting this year.

Wow... this is getting real confusing.

2010 - New Attractions - Speculation - (8/8/09) Cedar Point posted a blatant hint on their Facebook page that seems to indicate that their 2010 project is a GCI wooden coaster. It simply said, “Gee, See Eye!” That’s almost too obvious for Cedar Point however… perhaps GCI is coming in to fix Mean Streak. Otherwise, I’ve also heard a rumor that the signed deal to build the GCI over at California’s Great America may have been mov2010_WoodCoasterPossibleLayouted to The Point. We heard this last year (see below) as there was some speculation that staff was doing some survey work in the area around the skytower and employee parking lot behind there to see if it could fit in that area and wrap around the tower the same way that they had planned to do at CGA.
2010_WoodCoasterPossibleLayout.jpg

In fact, with only a minor modification (reverse the direction of the turn around the Skytower) you can see just how the exact same coaster layout planned for CGA would work out running from the Disaster Transport area over to the Demon Drop area. This is only speculation art created by myself, and not anything at all from Cedar Point or GCI, this is only a simply quick and dirty example just to give you an idea how one possible way that it COULD work. As you see in my art, the Disaster Transport area would still survive mostly intact in this layout, as well as Demon Drop, though both has been on the chopping block for years.
(8/7/09) Cedar Point has begun to drop a few hints through the social online formats lately. They teased the masses earlier this week on Twitter saying that some hints about a 2010 attraction may be on the way soon. This was followed by a later post on Twitter that simply said ‘Aquatrax?” However I’m guessing that this may have simply been a response to an unseen fanboy reply to their previous message. Next up the’ve posted another strange hint on their FaceBook page that simply says, “A foot here...a foot there...a foot everywhere...” Then over at the OnPoint! Blog they mention the 2010 project, show off a picture of Millennium Island with the caption, “As some of you have guessed, this has something to do with it”.

You're probably already wondering when we'll talk about 2010, what we're doing at the park and what it actually is.

As some of you have guessed, this has something to do with it:

On the other hand, you can't blame them for ignoring the enthusiasts. I really like this way of marketing, creates speculation. After all, enthusiasts often tell their friends about the rumours, and after a while, quite a few people are following the speculation, waiting eagerly for the announcement, etc. Best of all, they are people from all over the world. It's arguably the cheapest (yet effective) way of international marketing they are coming up with here. Even if it is on a small scale.

Maybe they are just saying what its not...

Or just shouting out randomly to make coaster twats go crazy for their own amusment.

Or maybe the comments link up?

Maybe the comments have 2 possible meanings?

They may mean nothing at all.

Oh, what the hell does 12E mean on disaster? Other than its my Art class's number!

It was thrown on there by the designer of the 'theme.' His 12th creation and his name has E for the first or last name.

Ask yourself this:

What have they NOT mentioned?

It seems the game they're playing is eliminating what is rumored, leaving and leading to what it is.

Everyone likes to ignore me, or repeat what I've already said.
