AVATAR Land for Animal Kingdom WDW

Come on now guys... ANYTHING is better than this:

^hmmm. I did wonder but I doubt it very much. Mainly because it is the main icon of the park. That is the one thing that they probably wouldn't change too much. Plus the Bugs Life 4D attraction that is housed inside the base of the tree is really popular.

Well considering it is at least 5 years away from opening, Bugs Life might have its run end by then, and a retheme of the tree of life (isn't that also what the tree they worship in the movie is called?) probably isn't out of the picture. They will probably wait to announce any attractions until James Cameron finishes up ripping off Atlantis and tells them what the film will be about. What will be nice, is when Avatar fad is done, they can just retheme the area back to Pocahontas and Atlantis.

They won't retheme the Tree of Life. It's be like retheming the bloody Epcot ball or the castle. Just no.

Well they turned Haunted Mansion into Haunted Holiday Mansion or whatever its called. And THATS one of Disney's signature rides. If they can do it to something as important as HM, then they can do it to a tree.

No chance of them doing that.

Disney even took down the wand from the Epcot ball because Disney fans complained about it being there. I should imagine the same fans would have a fit if they rethemed the tree of life.

Heres a video of CEO Bob Iger talking about the new land:

They won't re theme the tree of life because that's just like re-theming the whole park and calling it 'Disney's Avatar kingdom'

I seriously think that this isn't a bad idea though the theming will be exceptional, the rides aren't likely to be tame...however how would this fit in with their target audience? Or are they going for most thrilling disney area ever?

I wonder what the rides would be? I'd like to see a B&M flyer, giant swings and a woodie!

Wow.. I never thought Disney would build something that actually makes me want to go to their parks...

I LOVE AVATAR <33333

If anyone can do the Pandora world setting justice it would be Disney!

Chances are, disney might get a B&M wingrider to fit in with that flying creature. The train might look abit like raptors.

^Highly doubtful. Look at the rides Disney has...not gonna be a B&M wingrider. Since it is Disney, and this is no way a dis towards them as it is for their target audience, it will either be a Soarin' style attraction for flying if anything. Sorry, I don't see anything intense ever going into a Disney park.

California Screamin is not a kiddy coaster neither is RnR so they can go for the more intense. I could also point out mission space and some people even say test track are extreme rides. Yes I dont think it will be a wing rider but maybe they will shock us.

That is only a temporary re-theme for special Holiday occasions though. They only do it California too because in Florida they don't have enough of a quiet period to warrent having the ride closed for the weeks they do in order to prep it all.

A wingrider would be PERFECT. Like it was said though, I doubt Disney would do something remotely thrilling.

Just saying though, Raptor isn't terribly intense, so something on that scale theoretically could work.

As I said before please stop this with Disney don't do anything thrilling, Mission Space is one of the most intense flat rides that there is. No other theme park ride pulls the G that that pulls from knowledge.

But the point is, it's a "neutral" centerpiece for the park as a whole, that's why it's in the middle of the park and the first weenie you see.... Making it Avatar themed removes this neutrality, and would give the impression the whole park is Avatar, or that Avatar is the most important thing about the park.

Oh, and retheming a single attraction in a corner of the park for Christmas is NOT comparable.

True, you are right about that, but Mission Space doesn't LOOK thrilling you know? Most of the general public probably goes into that thinking it'll be kind of motion simulator like. At least that's my perception of it (I've been on it).

So what I'm getting at is that a large rollercoaster might look to intimidating for a Disney World Resort park. Anything that Disney has that is thrilling is pretty hidden you know? With the exception of Screamin.

Yes I agree with you there, that's due the the theming of the rides but am sure Disney could theme a b&m so let's hope :)
