60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

^ Well one of the trains have been repainted, they've gone back to the old mine train style:

So I'd guess that they maybe changing it back as a Cannonball Express Mk2. And obviously they need it to run with more than one train. It has 4 trains after all!

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Thats brilliant for Pleasurewood Hills. I need to get back there next time I head down to Woodbridge.

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Looks like preperations are starting to take place for the Tower. Removing Thundersturck is first up:

Dont really know if it is or not yet.

I know its old, and rubbish, but I think they need to keep hold of it to fill up some of the large empty spaces, and then look to replace it at a later date.

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Looks like it may have arrived this morning. They posted this on their Twitter:

The CF Twitter page has said it's made by Moser and is a relocated tower ride from Denmark.

Presumably it's the one at Karolinelund that closed in 2010, as detailed in this topic.

Not a gyro drop then! :(

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Great news!

Pleasurewood hills might move thunderstruck(they've got a fair bit of land), or they could sell it to a smaller UK park and get a decent sum of money for it. PL might not have enough money for it anyway so they might have to sell thunderstruck...

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Well the planning documents show to be indenticle to this one in Spain:

Also, the one from Denmark is 50m tall, yet the one Spain, and on the planning documents is 60m tall.... who wrote that on Twitter?

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Look in Ian's EAS show topic, he heard from Moser themselves...

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

So, err, how does this planning thing work then? Thats clearly very different to what they applied for.... maybe it was sold back to Moser and they refurbished it?

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

I was with Ian when he talked to Moser. They've not touched it at all, took him a while to even understand what we were even on about and then he was all like "oh yeah, that's just being moved from Denmark". So maybe it was a misprint somewhere or something?

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

Well there's a hell of a lot of misprints then. Theres about 4 pdf's showing the actual tower, and then theres the write up, explaing one gondola, 24 seats etc...

BUT, I'm really not fussed, I'm happy either way :D

Re: 60m Drop Tower for Pleasurewood Hills...Approved!

This doesn't really deserve its own topic, but PWH have been helping with the clear out up at Loundoun Castle, and have purchased these 2 kids rides:

And the Tunderstruck ride is being refurbished:

It really pains me to say this, but, it ain't happening.

From Pleasurewood Hills:

It may be best to tell you now that due to various and strenuous time consuming complications it has meant that we are unable to acquire the tower which we have planning permission for. We still wanted to be able to offer a big ride for next year so we have purchased a travelling 40m drop tower with the prospect of "upgrading" the ride when the larger one becomes available. For this reason the ride will be mostly unthemed (minus the ship) so we do not incur huge costs for a temporary ride. On the plus side, the ride will be on the park and ready for opening in 2012 and is still slightly taller than Wipeout.

I know that this is frustrating but I thought it would be best to tell you now rather than you showing up on the park to be disappointed. The planning permission does however last for 3 years so we are looking to get the drop tower within this period.

God knows what happened, but I'm **** gutted :(

Well, they're still getting a Drop Tower, it's just a tiny bit shorter? Not exactly the end of the World.

And they're still hoping to have the other one in a while ANYWAY.

Hardly the reinstating of the Holocaust now is it.

Lol, I know what you're saying, but I think they're just being polite. I doubt very much that they will still go for a larger tower.

It doesn't mean much to you, Ben, but its my local park, and I was kinda looking forward to them getting a proper big, permanent attraction, but all they're getting now is the same ride they had a few years ago.

I suppose its good that they went to the effort to bring a replacement ride in, but its still a bit disappointing, and not just by me being selfish. This would have done wonders for the park, to have the UK's biggest drop tower, not an amazing claim to fame, but it would have been for little Pleasurewood.

It's Michael Wallis' Fabbri tower, so whilst it's not as tall, it'll be f*ckin powerful!!

Love this tower!

Pity that they're not getting the 60m drop tower. If that is going to pretty much be Megadrop back, it's still gonna be amazing. Never got ride the original but got to press the drop button! :)
