Alton Towers' Galactica VR coaster/Rollercoaster Restaurant

Re: Alton Towers' Galactica VR coaster/Rollercoaster Restaur Here’s my take on Galactica, after riding it yesterday: The retheme is okay. Leek signs seem to have been busy and the addition of LED par-cans is a nice touch. The TV screens feel very “Space Mountain” in basically every way. And in...

    IAAPA 2013

Jaguar? Also, the Kumbak trains on Stampida were replaced because the PTC trains were literally ripping themselves to shreds on a daily basis. Where the Kumbak trains have been fine. So from a mechanical point of view, they're doing a good job.

Again, it depends on whether it was just the hangers that were replaced, or the main axles/chassis as well. By keeping the original chassis and just replacing the hangars, they're just giving you less surface area to smash your head into. The track also plays a massive role, too. I prefer the...

    IAAPA 2013

That's probably because Movie World only wanted new hangars from Kumbak, instead of replacing the chassis/axles as well. So it's still all Vekoma, up there, just with new Kumbak bodies, so to speak.

The Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay

I'm actually pretty excited to see how this Morgan coaster turns out. Doesn't look like it has the same sort of "whip-about" factor of a Mega-Lite, but Morgan seem to know how to create a smooth, airtime filled ride, so I have good expectations of this. I'm also pretty interested in what...

    Eurofighter lift hill brushes?

    Precisely.

    Eurofighter lift hill brushes?

Kind of curious as to what the brushes are, seen on Eurofighter lift hills.

    Magnetic Brakes

It does indeed. The trains come to a complete stop on the final brake run, from a combination of the retractable brake fins, as well as feeder wheels. They then scoot the train along to the offload platform, relying solely on them to stop the train on both platforms. Th13teen has the same...

Overweight UK CFers - Possible Channel 5 documentary stardom

Re: Overweight UK CFers - Possible Channel 5 documentary sta A lot of people also have issues with the length of their legs, though, on rides with lapbars. When it comes to fatties, it also depends on the "firmness" of their fat, too. Kinda gross, but also rather fun, squeezing people into...

    Chinese Rip-Off Rundown

I found this. Thought you guys might find it interesting, or shocking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGbH_m0EYnE This is the imaginatively named "Suspended Coaster" at Hangzhou Paradise, a Beijing Shibaolai knock off.

Runaway Mine Train, runs away again!

It stalled when I was on it, back in May on the Smiler opening day (when it didn't actually open). Lost power, rolled back into the tunnel, then immediately fired up again and continued like nothing had happened. I don't really know if that bares any correlation to this, but it immediately...

Brean Leisure Park, 3rd Nov 2012

Terror Castle was designed by Wardley, if I remember correctly. Something that I've been wanting to try for a while. Shockwave is actually my favourite Pinfari looper. It just doesn't seem as "jarring" as the more compact layouts that came later on.

Manhattan Express/Roller Coaster - Premier Trains.

Has the track not received any attention at all, over the years? Not even when the magnetic brakes were added?

    X goes forward

The ride has always been very "meh" to me. Just makes me think of being dragged backwards through a seedy gay bar.

Manhattan Express/Roller Coaster - Premier Trains.

Just recently found this mounted POV of Manhattan Express/Roller Coaster on Youtube. Looking at it, it still looks monstrously rough, even with the new Premier trains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tJt6pmna8A Now I know that the coaster has always been horrendously rough, but did the...

    Chinese Rip-Off Rundown

I've decided to do a little run down of the knock-off SLCs out there, as a comparison. Some do it better than others, it seems. Just for a comparison, we have El Condor, what's known to be the roughest Vekoma SLC out there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnerotGoH2s Next up, we have Hanging...

    Chinese Rip-Off Rundown

Just sayin'... http://coastercrazy.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27241 ^^ That coaster was made by Hebei Zhongye, the guys that are taking a stab at the delayed 11 inversion coaster for Jinling Happy World. The ride below is from Beijing Shibaolai and they seem to be pretty darn horrific...

Weird, Wacky & Strange Coaster Bits

This is known as a Wild Wind, manufactured by Interpark (the company which now own the rights to Pinfari) of Italy. One of them, which has been set up at Playland Park, Keansburg Amusement Park and then Motor World, is believed to have never opened to the public, due to the G Forces being too...
