Your own Coaster Prototypes

2 of my favorite things to do are ride Roller coasters(like everyone else here), and deep thought. Combine them, and you get Coaster Ideas! Usually for me, it's new prototypes I can see. Some are realistic, some are fantasy, most are both. Some of my personal ideas are:

-Inverts that can change from Sit Down to Flying position mid-ride.

-Coasters that can have track on the bottom and the top.

-Flying Position Wingriders.

-Launched Wooden Coasters.

-Inverted Wooden Coasters.

That's pretty much all I can think of. What do you want to see happen in the coaster industry?

That already sort of exists with Full Throttles, loop and top hat :p

I would love a launched woodie, would be a real interesting experience that :D

^Not that kind. I meant top and bottom of the train. Here's a really bad ASCII Diagram to show what I mean:

(track)(track)(track)
(train)(train)(train)
(track)(track)(track)

So it can change from Invert to Floorless like that!
It would require prestige engineering though...

^Kind of, but not quite. My ASCII diagram was messed up. Let's just do this:

Let's say the coaster starts out as an Invert, and then halfway through the ride, it changes to Sit-Down. So the inverted track ends, and the normal track begins.

Hope that makes some sense.

^Surely you'd have to have some sort of mechanism that would turn the seats in that too because otherwise when it becomes 'sit down', you'd be upside down. Nice idea but I think that'd be rather complicated.

I like the idea of sitting on the track then in an inversion sort of thing be under the same track you went over.

Still don't get it. Here's another way of telling it:

Straight section of track of an Inverted Coaster(Montu, Oz'Iris, Black Mamba), then halfway though that track section, it turns to a Floorless coaster(Medusa, Dominator, Rougarou). Hopefully everyone gets it now.

I think he means it with wheel assemblies on the top and bottom of the trains.

I'd love to see a coaster with a launch on the drop, think the coaster version of the fabbri drop towers. Those towers are crazy intense, and it's a shame that no coaster has adapted the idea.

Seeing as you'd have the wheel assemblies both above and below you the entire time, I'm not sure if it would be as fun to ride it as an ordinary floorless or invert would.

Still a cool idea,though.

Each time we got this topic someone comes up with this suggestion. Still I quite can't imagine how it would be done?! The only way I see it possible is with the truss structure completely surrounding you, effectively blocking all views. Looking somewhat like the dive loop on Goliath (but throughout the entire course):

Am I correct? If so; how would that be any fun?

As for my own ideas for "coaster prototypes", I'm not a huge fan of different seating positions. Instead I'm interested in new creative layouts, and the composition and flow of the elements (much like RMC has come to revolutionize the business lately). Would be hard to explain in words. I might have to start playing No Limits to develop my ideas..

It's probably not what you are looking for but the Mr. Freeze Roller coasters at the six flags park's do have LIM motors on the spike to give it a boost

I frankly don't get why people are so obsessed with inverted woodies. Unless it is done by RMC, it will be the worst coaster on the planet. Even if it is done by RMC I don't see it being good. I'd prefer they stay with what they do best, instead of trying to provide a gimmick.

Magnetic launch RMC would actually not be too difficult to envision - or at least a steel-tracked launch that goes to wood. (Think SoB loop)
