The weight of the double bogies would be huge, surely?
So you'd end up with really heavy trains, and then that doesn't take into account how you'd transfer between them (the bogies would have to be flexible to traverse the track, so they would 'droop' when not on rails etc), plus how would you attach the cars together? Attaching them at the top would mean the wheels on the bottom wouldn't work and vice versa (Imagine an inverted coaster where the bottom of the carriages were stuck together. The train wouldn't be able to make an uphill turn, such as going up a lift)
And then that doesn't even take into account zero-cars.
