It was a rather interesting week on the show I guess. I must say I loved them showing the footage of Gary having a hissy diva fit at the cameras. Bless him, he is such a queen... Go get him Ben
Performance wise:
Jahmene: He does a brilliant tone to his voice but he has already prooved that he can do vocal acrobatics. Must he do the 'screech' every week? My biggest issue with him is that he just stands their looking rather limp. There was very little in terms of performance that it bored me.
Union J: They were far better than last week. Amazing what a song choice can do. I actually really enjoyed their version of Bleeding Love. It certainly had a lot more energy than when Leona sans personality Lewis sings it. Not surprised by the fact they have found their own now.
Ella: Gorgeous voice. She should sail through the majority of the competition but I thought the song choice was so incredibly dull. It just didn't click my mouse for me.
James: Kinda love and kinda hate. I adore the Mary J Blige version of the song so was a bit worried about what he would do with it. He does have an innate ability to convey the emmotion across, its just a shame that the said emmotion always seems to be misery and pain. Vocally it was ok, but again with the yelling/screeching... Is this what is expected in the music industry nowadays?
Lucy: Who needs auto-tune when you have Lucy - i'll just say the lyrics instead - Spraggen. Ok so it was a rap song, but it was just full of eurgh. Shame, she seems like the sort of person who would be up for laugh on a messy CF night out. But yeah, as a performance... leave. now.
Jade: Was utterly forgettable. Totally boring.
Kye: Effing AWFUL! It was flat and dull. His falsetto was like nails on a chalkboard. I was surprised though because he is normally relatively good.
Rylan: Oh Rylan, Rylan, Rylan... There is so much totally wrong with you but so much win too. I wouldn't go so far as to say he can't sing full stop. He can hold a few notes, but because of his lack of skill he is limited in what he can sing. He is never going to win but he will linger around till week 6 or so and then become like Jedward. An act that we just can't seem to get rid of. He certainly can perform though. He looked like he was thoroughly enjoying himself. Glad someone on the show is coz the rest of em look like they are doing chores.
Melanie: Yes yes, screech that top note and bend over like you've been kicked in the snatch we get it already. The girl can sing but the song choice was boring imo. Especially when they had just song the over on Strictly only an hour before and the fact its in the John Lewis advert and constantly being played on the Radio. Soooo sick of it and it made loathe Melanie this week.
Christopher: Cruise ship dahling, cruise ship. Yeah he can sing but XFactor is not the show for him
MK1: I actually quite liked their take on the song except for the rap bits. Tbh, I think a decently produced studio version would be a large hit.
District 3: Really? Louis you old grandad. Did you really just wheel out the Boyz II Men... Totally and utterly pants. Yes, they can harmonise beautifully, but that song. No. Just no.
I would have said that the likely bottom 2 from that lot were going to be District 3 and Christopher tbh. They were my least favourite performances so I was a little surprsed to see Melanie in the sing-off. Both survival songs were utterly hideous though. They could have just wheeled out a Canon and fire Wagner at the both of them for all I cared.
