^Hmmm....

I'm still not sure about the shaping of the top of the lift, but that might just be the angle. Also, could you post a different angle of the supports for the lift? It's hard to tell what they're like from that picture.

^Yup

I had to change the bottom of the drop as I had a red G spike, so this is an altered lift top.

I know that track connecter is not level with the over support nodes, but when altering the drop, it went like that, I will try to sort it out.

More Eurofighters? It sure looks good, but recently we've had nothing but Eurofighters and beyond-vertical Intamins here. Why doesn't anyone build a mine train?
Nice colours, though. Red, white and blue...

I'm building one,

pics soon ;)

I've just got to find a modeling prog for the Mac... Yes, I am now a Mac user of NL! :P

^Not the only one who's building one!

This is a nice few screeny's of my new Eurofighter called Typhoon

I've been working on it all night!

THe supports are nearly finished, the layout is done, there won't be much landscaping to do, so i'd say 90% complete. Just a screen to show you more of the layout.

^In that picture, you can see that the transition from vertical to horizontal at the top of the lift is very tight, yours is too drawn out. And there's also the issue Hixee pointed out about the drop being too far from the tower. Make sorting that out the final 10%!

^ Why have you faded the red? As it looks silly.

Heres some more screens of my Giant Eurofighter. Its about 80% supported.

^ Love that helix, its so small and cute.

It seems to me like the drop on Rage stays much closer to the tower than your drop.

Yeah, that annoys me too, when sorting out the drop (to stop a G-spike) it messed up, as I stupidly forget to ride it, before building the lift supports, and I really can't build them again as they took me like 2 hours orignally (as that was my first time doing anything like this) plus I can't really do them again, as all the ohter track blocks the side-on and all the other views.

:/

Decided to start making a mine train on no limits today here is the almost final layout just a few tweeks to make but apart from that its good.

I need some advice on what type of supports to use as i know they vary quite alot on differnet mine trains and also your opinion on the layout.

Here is what I think;
  • Use the show heartline option in all views.
  • Actually use it to help you heartline.
  • Use more nodes, it'll help you to create a smoother ride.
  • Actually smooth out nodes rather than just plonking them down.
  • Your banking looks way off in most places, that probably needs looking at. This is also related to the thing about more nodes.
  • The lift and brakes need to be straight. Use the 'i' key to straighten them.
That is all.

I know it's sometimes hard to tell what the pumping issues are just from a plan view, but some of the corners look like they will pump terrible. Also some of the transitions look a bit jerky.

I know Mine-Trains aren't renound for their smoothness, but they aren't as bad as some parts of that ride look like.

Okay I'm going to completly re-do Captain America, it's anoying, but it's my own fault.

EDIT: The new lift/drop structure, more rounded top, supports are closer to the lift and drop, I hope this is okay as I cannot do it all over again!

That doesn't look too bad.

Except for one thing.

Do not use prefab supports.

Thanks, I'm only using the prefab supports until I can get round to making it fully custom supporting, until then prefab it is! Doing custom supports takes a long time!
