Trip plans for 2013

Slight change-up in my plans.

March is just Dollywood now.
April is SFMM (YAY)
May is Canadas Wonderland, Martins Fantasy Island and Darien Lake
June is looking at Six Flags New England, SFGreat Adventure, Dorney, Hershey and SFA

While Im driving West for my move (hopefully happening), will be Silver Dollar City, SFoT and SFFT. Not sure if I would add in any other parks or not.

Keeping my eye on cost and trying to see if I can bunk with some friends in June that happen to live near those parks to help ease cost.

I maintain if you're going to Darien lake it's worth driving the extra 45 minutes east to go to seabreeze. It's cheap after 5pm.

Will be visiting the usual UK parks - Thorpe, Chessington, Towers, Drayton Manor, Legoland, BPB etc. Then I've got plans to go to Scotland to get all the creds up there and hopefully if I manage to save up enough money and work sort out my holiday soon, join the CF-Euro Live in Finland! :)

There may be a possibility of me going to some other parks in Europe, in particular Phantasialand and Europa Park but it all depends on money.

Currently got Finland CF Euro Live and Scotland trip confirmed. Would like to try and get back to Tel Aviv and actually do the parks there next time, Parc Asterix, Plopsland, Europa Park and go to Terra Mitica as I might have a free holiday there.

And hoping to sweep up the other UK creds I don't have.

Plans at the moment include Finland Live, Scotland trip, possible Belgium trip and Madrid. Plus all of the usual crap.

Hoping to get booking things soon, but as it stands, my plans are:

April/May: Paris (Asterix/Foire du Tron)
April/May: Bagatelle
June: Holland for the day, either Efteling or Walibi
September: Port Aventura

Plus visit to Pleasure Island, Alton and Mingoland. I dont really plan my UK park trips anymore, I just go when I feel like it really.

My plans have greatly changed in the last 24 hours.

Next week I'm off to Efteling.
April/May - Belgium
September - Japan

Still not sure when to go Madrid and Phantasialand. Possibly go Asterix and/or DLP in October too with a bunch of UK park trips scattered about.

25/1-27/1 - Efteling

16/3 (or whenever Sweven opens) - Alton

7/9 - Tokyo Joypolis
8/9 - Hanayashiki
9/9 -10/9 - Fuji-Q Highland
11/9-13/9 - Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea
14/9 - Tobu Zoo
15/9 - Aqua Stadium
15/9 - Yokohama Cosmoworld
17/9 - Space World
18/9 - Mitsui Greenland
20/9 - Universal Studios Japan
21/9 - Hirakata
22/9 - Parque Espana
24/9 - Nagashima Spa Land
25/9 - Yomiuriland
26/9 - Nasu Highland

That'll do for starters

^I'm already looking forward to seeing that Japan trip report. :)

2 days? - only if its busy time, can "do" the park in less than a day (from Tokyo) if not busy

fair enough, but a day at each would work?

15/9 - Yokohama Cosmoworld
yep - Aqua is just a stop on the Yamanote, should include Sea Paradise as well as Cosmoworld tho (I'm sure you have!)

22/9 - Parque Espana
Missing a day here... can do both ^ and v from Nagoya OK

24/9 - Nagashima Spa Land

Good effort though! :)

2 days at Fuji is partly contingency really in case its busy. We don't HAVE to go back the 2nd day. That said, it's the one park I've been most looking forward to for years and years and it'd be nice to have the opportunity to whore everything to death.

Don't forget that Peep and I are Disney goons. I already had to haggle him down from 4 days ;)

I didn't know how long we'd be at Yokohama, or if Sea Paradise was worth the effort just for 1 cred. Plus it's the day before a bank holiday so might be really busy.

There's a one day gap between Espana and Nagashima because a) we want some time to spend doing non-park stuff and b) its a bank holiday so doing a park would probably be hell on earth.

6 months of planning have gone into this, not that you'd know it the way we've kinda thrown it together over the last couple of days! lol

All sounds very cool though - have you got your city-bases / travel all worked out?

Dunno if any of the parks (apart from the BIG ones Disney/Universal and Fuji on a bad day) ever get what you would call "busy" and you are totally right to build in slack for random exploring/culture stuff; just wandering the streets of Tokyo or Osaka is an experience (Osaka particularily has random drop towers and ferris wheels on top of high-rises all over the place) ! Cool culture stuff like Kyoto or Nara are worth doing too (if you only can do one, perhaps choose Nara since the cool stuff in Kyoto is all over the city, in Nara its mostly in one park (and you can lament the SBNO Dreamland in the distance :-( )).

(clearly I'm more interested in people's Japan trips that I am any of my own this year - vicarious geekdom?)

My plans for 2013 include:

-Alton hopefully a few times inc. riding SW7
-Smaller UK parks; Adventure Island is my first choice but not sure yet
-Few days in the US; at the moment it's looking like a day or so each in SFGAdv and Dorney, maybe stop off in Philadelphia, and a bit of sightseeing in NYC

I'm going to get to go to Waterville USA right after opening day in the middle of March, Dollywood in late May for sure, Maybe Walt Disney World and Fun Spot Orlando in December. I'm thinking about going to Gulf Island's Water Park, but that's a MAYBE, and that's a water park so it dosn't count.

Leaving my 25th credit to be somewhere in a 2014 trip.

lol, Waterville USA... I went last spring. Got there before the start of their season so only the coaster was running? paid for 2 rides but they gave me 3 and let me switch seats. Fun little ride.

So far outside of my local parks (mmhmm) I've got my NY/ON trip set.
Canada's Wonderland, first time since 07
Martin's Fantasy Island, first time since 05
And new for me Centreville Amusement Park and Wild Water & Wheels
Marineland is likely to happen once I finish my non-park plans..

I've also got a small Texas trip set
SeaWorld Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Schlitterbahn New Braunfels (Bahn being new for me)

And then... I'm trying to work in some sort of Silver Dollar City, Magic Springs, Frontier City trip (MS and FC being new for me)

^^ & ^I went to Waterville USA the week before Labor Day & was the only one there. I paid for one ride to film the Cannonball Run POV & they offered me another, so I tried out the back row as well. After that they offered yet another ride (& as many as I wanted to), but I declined because it just didn't seem right to only pay for one & get take so many for free (especially since they were so nice about allowing me to film on the ride).

I couldn't be bothered with Centreville Amusement Park tbh (in spite of reports to the contrary - I'm not really a credit whore), but I would love to try out Pipeline Express at Wild Water & Wheels. I really need to hit the place up before they get rid of that thing.

Schlitterbahn is great, just be prepared to wait 90 minutes or more for Master Blaster. I also hope all the Dragon Revenge effects are working for you.

Too bad that you had to wait until after Magic Springs got rid of the two credz before you were able to make the trip. The park needs to replace those to really be worthwhile.

I like Frontier City for sentimental reasons (I used to ride the Arrow launched looper at SFGAdv & I went to OU for a semester) in addition to Wildcat & Silver Bullet <3. I wish they hadn't removed erUPsion, which was nice to ride without a upcharge (I never rode it at SFGAdv because of having to pay extra).

Why aren't you hitting up Six Flags Over Texas on one of those trips, since you're going to be so close each time?

^^You should definitely try to throw SF over Texas in too if you haven't been there, especially if you are going to Frontier City. Depending if you had trips back to back, it's like 2 hours or so from San Antonio to Dallas, then it's another 3 to Frontier City. Branson is basically 4.5 hours from there, and then Magic Springs I don't think is too far. Regardless there is a lot of driving involved.

Indeed, I'd go to Centre mostly for the boat ride and views of the city (+ it bugs me that I've SEEN the park and not been :p I don't really care about the power dragon) and yeah... the Auto Sled is the last of its kind now... and an awful looking two hour drive (each way) from Canada's Wonderland! So I'm gritting my teeth cause I wanna try the ride.

I'm planning on getting the hour early entry pass... and I've read the horror stories and have heard first hand accounts.. That's why I didn't go last summer.

For real, piss me off. And from what I've heard the rest of the park is pretty dumpy outside of the waterpark... I've even sent them some bitchtweets about X-Coaster still being in photos ALLLLLL over their site....

I grew up with an Arrow shuttle loop too ;) (RIVERISDE! Pre-SFNE days) and having gotten to ride erUPtion once at GAdv, it was rather uneventful and inferior to the Funtime Sling Shot

Why aren't you hitting up Six Flags Over Texas on one of those trips, since you're going to be so close each time?
See below :p

I'd be driving between SDC and FC... So I did look at SFOT, but I think I'd rather wait and enjoy that park (I've even mapped out a trip for it with a stop at the State Fair of Texas)

If you have the time I also recommend hitting up Zero Gravity (in Dallas) if you like free fall or other thrill rides. We went there on a discount day to get the unlimited ride wristbands & hit the park up at opening & then went back at night to do everything again. The SCAD tower isn't as good as the one most of us did during the Denmark Live, but is still lots of fun & they have one of those big bungee launched sling shot rides, which is much more intense than the spring loaded sling shots you see at all the major theme parks.
As part of your Dallas trip you might want to think about adding on Wonderland & Joyland in west Texas. Neither park is that great, but Wonderland has Texas Tornado (which is very unique) & Joyland is nearby with three credz to add to your count.

I've got the following trips lined up, nothing exciting :--D :

Alton Towers: at the end of March
Thorpe Park: sometime before May
Portaventura: 1st week of July
Blackpool: 2nd 1/2 of the year
Plopsaland: 2nd 1/2 of the year
