Toverland's Expansion Plan

As a heads up to anyone visiting Toverland in September/early October, Fénix will be closed between September 5th and October 7th to allow work to commence on the four new rides opening next year. The coaster will be back up and running in time for the park’s Halloween event.

Per sources to Looopings, one of the four new rides will be an Intamin parachute tower.

Same source says two of the other three rides will be for small children, leaving one potentially major thrill ride yet to be uncovered.

but i tink we can remove the droptower rumor then, because 2 tower rides in avelon i dont see that happening so what could it be a 4 atraction deal with intamin probably?

I wouldn't rule anything out just yet. For example, WDS has a Parachute Tower right next to Tower of Terror, and they're completely different experiences and neither renders the other obsolete.

They had started to build the attractions are still not confirmed even the parachute is maybe not true. There have starting diging in de first helix

And the first pictures of the 2 building sites in Avalon appeared on our "favorite Dutch site". 😅

The first site is next to The Flaming Feather on that 2nd pond, where Looopings assumes the Parachute Tower will be built.

The second place where they started digging is in the middle of the helix from Fenix where that stone circle used to be.

I didn't realise one of the sites was the stone circle. That's actually upset me a bit. I really thought that was a really simple but effective show piece. They have ample land elsewhere so I'm surprised they're breaking up the airiness of the area with works there?

Given that Fenix is supposed to be up and running again in time for Halloween, they’re not really putting one of the flats inside that helix, are they? It’d have to go up really fast.

And I see they’re filling in parts of the lake to the north. I was wondering when I stood near that lake two weeks back wether they were going (or were able) to do anything with that area. Guess that confirms they can and will.

1. I still think a flat ride in the helix is possible. They now have a month to build foundations etc. before Halloween starts. Toverland closes after Halloween for 3 weeks from November 7 to November 25, and reopens on Saturday, November 26.

That means building for 3 weeks without Fenix being closed to guests. However, from the opening on November 26, it is possible that Fenix will remain closed for 3 weeks until the Christmas holidays. So again they have plenty of time for further construction inside the helix before it gets busy.

2. The 2nd pond would normally be the next big project, so it's quite remarkable that they are now using a piece of this area for the expansion of Avalon.

It doesn't rule out anything of course, I still have my hope up the next big project/themed area will emerge in the future for the rest of the pond. It was confirmed by Tessa Maessen (Toverland communication specialist) in an interview a few years ago. An associated themed hotel should then be created on the edge of the pond too (top right). But with this assumed Parachute Tower coming on the front part of this lake, plans may have changed. I'm excited to see how this part of the park develops in the future. :)

So Looopings got their hands on the building plans, revealing quite a few things. https://www.looopings.nl/weblog/206...ls-over-vier-nieuwe-attracties-Toverland.html

- The Parachute Tower will be built on the new land in the water, as expected. It will be 40 meters tall.
- Right next to the Parachute Tower they will add a small kiddie carousel with 6 gondolas that will move up and down during the ride.
- Next to the Flaming Feather restaurant one of those horse train ride thingys will be built. It will have trains that represent animals, I'm guessing it will have horses to make the kids feels like their jousting.
- And finally, the new ride in the helix of Fenix. Still unclear as to what this will actually be, but my guess is an indoor drop- or launchtower, or some theatre like attraction. The structure will be 29 meters tall, and have an indoor queue where the guests will be immersed in "a thematic experience".

Overall it seems like a sensible choice to go for these attractions, something to do for the entire family and it fills up the area nicely. I do hope it won't be too crowded on busy days with six attractions in one themed area, let's wait and see🙂 I hope they are also going to do something about Fenix' station building, that green box is an eyesore.

That area’s too small for a theater attraction, I’d believe. More likely some sort of tower attraction (Toverland’s version of Mystery Castle would be lit, ngl).

Bit embarrassing ey...

What ever ride it's nice to see Toverland expanding

To compare: Mystery Castle is 65 m tall.

The article says "a meters high plateau will be realized on which the attraction will stand. The max. height is 29 m." That's nor even half of the length of MC.

It also says: "from the attraction, visitors will see coastertrains passing by" so I don't expect an indoor droptower. More likely It could be some Observation Platform like Euro-Tower in Europa-Park. This tower starts kind of "inside" a building and then comes out when it goes up. As Europa-Park is their great example, this could be something similar.
