going from

1 - Bizarro (sfne).
2 - Skyrush.
3 - Colossos.
4 - Nemesis.
5 - Piraten.
6 - Dominator.
7 - Griffon.
8 - Batman the ride.
9 - Maverick .
10- Oblivion.

and after Portaventura and europa park, my season ending(*) list is

1 - Bizarro (sfne). Almost perfect, Airtime on every hill, brilliant both back and front, smooth, comfy, would happily ride for hours!

2 - Skyrush. Another insanely brilliant intamin coaster - nothing quite prepares you for the airtime, which is as "out of your seat" as it gets - the transitions in the outer seats are insane too - The restraints do tighten during the ride though, and I can understand how people find it uncomfortable

3 - Colossos. Almost as good as Bizarro

4 - Sliver star 2012 edition. When I first rode this in 2007, it was rather "meh", but riding it about 10 times on the ECC Europa trip this year it gave fantastic airtime everywhere - first ride of the day, back seat, front seat, middle seat, all awesome and I couldn't decide where I prefered it. just pure unadulterated fun, giving me no choice other than give it a high place in my top 10!

5 - Nemesis. There's still something very special about it - great theming and relentless intensity

6 - Shambhala. Good airtime, and a very good layout (and the best water splashdown i've done!).

7 - Piraten. Airtime everywhere, and keeps speed really well

8 - Dominator. Loved it - got a few rerides during the live

9 - Griffon. Great inversions, and 2 great drops, but not quite up to oblivions drop

10- Batman the ride. Super intense and lovely n smooth throughout

4 intamins v 6 b and ms

(*) Unless anything at hyde park winter wonderland blows me away, or someone buys me a trip to a theme park that's open at this time of year!

I'm so confused! XD I'm in no way impeding your judgement, but would you mind explaining your decisions? I'm not being snarky or anything I'm just generally intrigued as to the decisions you've made and why, especially considering you've been to parks like Port Aventura where Dragon Khan and Shambhala live and yet they don't make an appearance? Interesting...

^ Hehe, well, I do understand why you are confused, allow me to explain.

Generally I just look for other values on a coaster than most enthusiasts.
Most enthusiasts hears divine music when on a airtime heavy coaster, I just don't, and don't get me wrong because I think airtime is really cool, but I just value some other things instead. - Like if the coaster surprises you or an amazing first drop. If I get that 'butterflies in stomach'/adrenaline rush feeling on a coaster, it's a sure winner for me. Which is also the thought behind my top 3.

I also don't really get why people love the mega lites so much, (which I've gotten a lot of heat for on TPR)
I mean, they are smooth and fun coasters, but they just don't do it for me.

And what concerns PortAventura, I was there in 2009 when I really wasn't in to coasters as much as now.
We had one day in a packed park, and my family didn't want to wait in line for Dragon Khan, - Thrust me I regret that I didn't just say they could go ahead and call me later so I could ride!

Hope that helped! :--D

Only Thorpe and Blackpool to choose between this year. Can scrape 10.

1. Swarm
2. Saw
3. Nemesis Inferno
4. PMBO
5. Colossus
6. Revolution
7. Grand National
8. Big Dipper
9. Nick Streak
10. Avalanche

No places for Steeplechase, Blue Flyer, Wild Mouse, Infusion or X;NoWayOut. Tbh the last 4 rides were just thrown in to make it 10 as 1-6 were the only ones I actually remember enjoying.

Best of 2012:

1. OzIris - Parc Asterix
2. Megaphobia - Oakwood
3. Saw The Ride - Thorpe Park
4. Space Mountain Mission 2 - Disneyland Paris
5. Wodan Timbur Coaster - Europa Park
6. Black Mamba - Phantasialand
7. Swarm - Thorpe Park
8. Nemesis - Alton Towers
9. Speed - Oakwood
10. Flying Fish at Ghosterforce! <3 - Thorpe Park

...and the Worst of 2012:

1. Goudurix - Park Asterix
2. Grand National - Blackpool Pleasure Beach
3. Euro Mir - Europa Park
4. Indiana Jones et le Temple Du Peril - Disneyland Paris
5. Shock Wave - Brean Leisure Park
6. Colossus - Thorpe Park
7. Wild Mouse - Blackpool Pleasure Beach
8. X:// No Way Out - Thorpe Park
9. Temple Of The Nighthawk - Phantasialand
10. Euro Sat - Europa Park

From what i've ridden this year......

1. Shambhala
2. Furius Baco
3. Stealth
4. Nemesis
5. Oblivion
6. Dragon Khan
7. Dragons Fury
8. The Swarm
9. Air
10. Stampida

Not the most interesting of lists but thats what ive done. I dont understand the hate for Baco, I rode it twice in June and found it enjoyable. Dragons Fury was a surprise for me, havent been to Chessington for years and didnt realise how much fun it was!

^What seat did you sit in? But, judging from your including of Stampida in your top ten as well it would appear that you are some kind of sadist who enjoys pain ;]

From those I've ridden this year (only been to Mirabilandia and Prater):
1. iSpeed
2. Katun
3. DiVertical
4. Super 8er Bahn
5. Dizzy Mouse
6. Leprotto Express
7. Explorer
8. Wilde Maus
9. Master Thai
10. Volare

Considering these are all which I've ridden this year. If that wouldn't be so, there is no way that the pain machines like Volare, Master Thai and Wilde Maus would be on my list

I was on the inside seat both times I rode, my boyfriend who was on the outside seat said he did get abit of headbanging, we did 1st and 2nd row.

As for Stampida I found it rough and it definitely throws you around, but not to the point of being painful. I did only ride it once though.

Ah yeah, Baco in the first couple of rows on the inside is really quite fun. For full brain-hemorrage action try back row, outside seat. Skull rattling.

Stampida would be fun if the seats had more padding, just end up with crushed ribs the entire time <//3 That and it's pretty bland.

It is bad. I gave in and let my dad and sister sit on the inside. I still have a mark on my ears from the restraints :(

I had a pretty productive 2012 :) Picking 10 shouldn't be too hard though

1) Starry Night Ripper - World Joyland (Actually my new joint #1 overall with Nemesis)
2) Fireball - Happy Valley Shanghai
3) Atlantis Adventure - Lotte World
4) Diving Coaster - Happy Valley Shanghai
5) Mega Lite - Happy Valley Shanghai
6) Swarm - Thorpe Park
7) Mountain Peak - Jing Jiang Action Park
8) Veil Of Dark - Tokyo Joyopolis
9) Polar Explorer - Legoland Denmark
10) Galaxy Express 999 - Epson Aqua Dome

A special mention should goto Megabitz at Prater park though.. A good Vekoma...
And if T-Express had actually been open there may have been a different #1 or 2 :(

I've already posted my overall top 10, but it's pretty interesting how people are doing theirs only for coasters they have ridden in 2012, so here goes.

1. Shambhala, PA
2. Nemesis, AT
3. Stealth, Thorpe
4. Dragon Kahn, PA
5. Swarm, Thorpe
6. Oblivion, AT
7. Furius Baco, PA
8. Thirteen, AT
9. Air, AT
10. Shockwave, Drayton Manor

NB. Didn't ride any of the other major coasters at Thorpe this year.

I'm shocked at myself since I thought I posted in here ages ago:

With 2012 over

1. Millennium Force, Cedar Point
2. I305, Kings Dominion
3. El Toro, SF Great Adventure
4. Skyrush, Hershey Park
5. Nitro, SF Great Adventure

In a semi not so solid order:
6. Storm Runner, Hershey Park
7. Apollo's Chariot, BG Williamsburg
8. The Incredible Hulk, IoA
9. Volcano, the Blast Coaster, Kings Dominion
10. Grizzly, Kings Dominion

Grizzly was a complete shock, but in the last row the airtime had my body pulling against the belt, it was rough but not brutal (well at least to my glutton for punishment) and had some nice zip through tunnels and trees. Was damn fun.
