Re: Thorpe Park construction?
I'm all for dark rides, just not at Thorpe. I understand they're moving away from the thrill market and more towards families again but I think they have a MASSIVE undertaking on their hands. They spent ears basically making the park impenetrable to families and now all of a sudden they want them back again? The current clientele at Thorpe give the park a reputation that precedes them; dark ride or no dark ride I think they'll be hard pressed to bring families to Thorpe in that area over LegoLand or Chessington.
With regards to the IP I've said it over and over again. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Doctor Who considering the relationship Merlin have built with the BBC, but for me it's a much more delicate process than choosing a popular brand to build a ride around. Picture the weed smoking chavs that go to Thorpe currently getting excited about something like Dr. Who. Difficult isn't it?
