Well, what I think he means that instead of making a topic about the advert, make it about PS3 in general, such as 'Which games do you own?' or 'New line up of PS3 games!'
that way you can still include the new advert in your post, and the topic will be more reasonable as people can talk about something more than just a new advert.

Eugh, American humour is so awful. All you gotta do is go "Americas great!", "Aren't environmental issues stupid!", "People without big cars are gay!" *insert various stereotypes here*.
