The Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay

I'm also pretty interested in what they'll end up doing to T2. Wondering if they'll go all out, getting new train chassis and bodies, as well as carrying out track work, or just new train bodies.
Looks like you won't have to wait too long. According to the park map T2 will reopen in 2015, with the Twins returning in 2016. :--D

The mini-Morgan looks really good fun! Chang was very good, but the park never had a good airtime coaster, so this should put that to rights for a reasonable price.

Anyone also thoguht it was a bit funny that they're re-opening the park with a new Drop Tower considering what happened 6 years ago? Obviously it's a completely new ride and the park isn't being run by Six Flags, but this is the sort of thing the press will take out of context and try and make up some awful story on.

^ The FAQs on the website have been very clear about that issue! ;)

How thorough is Kentucky Kingdom’s training for ride operators?

It is the responsibility of each park to properly maintain its rides and train ride operators in accordance with manufacturers’ established procedures. Kentucky Kingdom strictly adheres to this policy for all its rides. We maintain and enforce strict operating standards, conduct daily ride inspections and follow a very thorough annual maintenance program. We conduct comprehensive training and certification of all ride operators with periodic testing to ensure there is no deviation from our standards.

What about the new drop ride at Kentucky Kingdom?

Many parks throughout the world have drop rides. These rides have been manufactured in accordance with engineering standards to guarantee that they are safe and dependable.

The new drop ride that Kentucky Kingdom has purchased is the same ride that was also installed in 2012 in another theme park in Kentucky. Kentucky state ride inspectors have certified that ride for annual operation since 2012.

That's not going to stop the media from reporting it through. But it's good that they've set out their position early on the issue so that they can have a strong reposte.

^ Well if they are ever going to get another drop ride, now is the perfect time for it. There are so many other new rides going in at the same time, so the tower won't get as much attention as if it were going in as a single new addition later on.
