What's new

Skyline Park | Sky Dragster | Maurer Söhne Motorbike

Only just noticed that s-bend in the second pic, meaning the launch must go into that horse shoe turn.... at a ridiculous speed to then have to make it over the large double up....

^ Don't forget the helix between the turnaround and camelbacks (1st photo). This thing is going to be powered in some way, I'm sure of it.

It's finished.

Yay?

Always wanted to defend Maurer when people said they deserved to go out of business, they make decent rides like shock and rip rocket.

But after seeing this? **** it. I hope bankruptcy is looming.

I don't think this will have any lifts or launches, considering what has been said in the initial announcement (interaction to control the speed), but will rather look sort of like this:

That's possibly the worst cred I've ever seen.
Hopefully when finished it won't be so bad and ride experience might be great, but god that looks awful.

This is quite possibly the stupidest looking ride I've ever seen. No wonder Maurer is ending coaster production... This is atrocious. Just- no.

Skyline Park be like, "Quick, the hate for that hideous Intamin at Ferrari Land is winding down! Get those enthusiasts something to bitch about stat!"

Looks horrendous though. And that S-bend, why???

It does look odd but the people saying it's the worst coaster ever are going pretty over the top.

Looking at all the info and the mentions of guest controlled speed I suspect this will be a glorified version of one of those monorails where you can control how fast your car goes. I'd imagine the car always moves forwards but guests can turn the throttle to speed it up. It makes sense if it gets the rumoured single cars. But Capacity will be god awful.

Looks like it will be an interesting fun ride but not anything spectacular.

And Maurer aren't going out of business. They are just spinning off from the parent company Maurer AG. The parent company will stop making rides but the spun off Maurer Rides will still make coasters. They've already sold 4 coasters including this one, including some kind of wing coaster design as well.
