Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

It's different seeing metal stairs on a wood structure. I'm excited to see what this turns out to be.

Wow. I didn't realise this was a World First Coaster? The FIRST Braille Covered Track...

WTF is that?
I assume they're holes for a topper layer/rails to be bolted on to. They just look drilled in random places though :?

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

Nope.. they run in a pattern.

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

Good spot, Snoo.

Sorry if I missed it, but are there any layout pics/renderings?

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

^Nope. Apparently park employees if asked are told to act like they have no clue what is going on. They don't even have a sign saying building for the future or anything like that. It's just there with no explanation. Hopefully in the next few months we will get some info.

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

I love that;

"Excuse me, are you building a new ride for next year" :) .

"No, there's nothing to see here" *BANG*, *CLANG*, *BANG* .

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out to be honest with you.

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

There should really be more of those coaster where you don't know the layout while they're building it.
- It makes it a lot more fun to follow the construction, and a lot more exciting!

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

^Yeah, but this is the internet. We're going to find out what they're doing soon enough. Marketing from the park alone is bound to give something away and that's accounting for construction pictures etc where we'll be able to 'work-out' what's going on.

I think the days of "secret rides" are pretty much over...

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

^ Yes, I'm aware of that, I was just saying that this is a really cool way to follow a construction at least at the moment.

But if you don't want to look at the layout, your not going to look at it. - So you can still pretend that the ride is "secret"

Wooden Hybrid Silver Dollar City

Well, during my vacation, I went to Silver Dollar City. While riding Wildfire, I saw Powder Keg and in the distance, I saw this coaster under construction. It looks like a hybrid coaster, since it has wooden supports, and goes straight down. (around 90.) Here a few pics I took. What do you think? (not about my poor photography, but about the coaster)

The lift hill, it looks about 100 ft, but I may be wrong. While riding the train, you could see the drop when down the side of the hill into this valley below.

The station under construction.

Yes...it's a pile of supports....I know that...

Re: Silver Dollar City |"Unknown"| Wooden Hybrid Coaster

Woooo

81 degree 160 foot drop!
This is going to be insane!
